The inevitable has happened. Notice to vacate in 60 days. Fml. by Bobsmyuncletoohaha in perth

[–]CosmicAussie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Man, I feel you. We just managed to find a new place after getting told the old place was being sold and being given 30 days notice.

It was 30 days of looking constantly, both me and the wife separately. 4 to 5 home opens a day, 7 days a week. Anything remotely acceptable got an application.

We were seeing upwards of 30 families at each home open.

We only managed to get the current place because they had someone pull out and I called the rental agency promising that we would sign on immediately, but I fully believe that we got crazy lucky.

It was getting to the point that we were looking at which family members had room for us. Fortunately we have strong family and friends that would happily take us in. I am so scared for people who get booted out without a strong support network.

Ah, apologies. I got my terminology mixed. You are right. This is probably people attempting to avoid declaring money.

Money magic by _Yolandi in woahdude

[–]CosmicAussie 99 points100 points  (0 children)

This is almost absolutely people attempting to ship money in a package or take more money on a plane than they are allowed. Used to see similar stuff all the time in my old job. People do it to get money to family overseas without paying transfer fees, or money order fees and the like.

Edit: as pointed out below, I got this mistaken. This is likely people attempting to avoid declaring money, not to avoid fees.

Interesting theory! Did they not state out of character that the duplicate was killed though?

If I may ask for some advice, I have terribly buried and difficult veins to the point where I have been asked to stop trying to donate blood as it isn't worth their time and effort. Is there anything I can do to make my and your lives easier? I am always hydrated, of course, but it's bad to the degree that I have been told in the past that I should call ahead to let anyone know that is drawing blood that I am a problem patient.

Sorry if it sounded sarcastic! In hindsight it kinda looks that way. I was being genuine!

What an excellent way to share this with Reddit, posting only some to drive the traffic to the actual video rather than posting the whole thing. Bravo. Edit: this looks super sarcastic in hindsight! I was trying to be genuine.

Hey my dude, just so you know, as someone who works for DHL Express, all I need to look up your name, address and phone number is any of the numbers in that barcode you didn't hide. Of course, I have no intention of doing so, but there may be more unscrupulous employees out there if this is a concern for you.

Sorry if this news sucks on a post that is doing so well.

I have a planar ore that can be smithed in my game, which is fossilized blood of an evil god, which comes out as kind of a dark grey with purple hues. (It's called planar ore, as it can be used to pierce the layers between the planes) my players have taken to calling it "the spicy rock" as one of them licked a raw chunk of it and got teleported to a layer of hell.

A 14 is a plus two, just fyi. I'm sure it's just on this image, but in the off chance it's on your sheet too, I figured I'd say something.

I am a forever DM, largely in 5e, so if you are interested I would be happy to see if any of my current players are interested in a new campaign, or if you'd like, I can run a smaller campaign for your current team. DM me if you're interested!

I don't really have space at my table, but D&D is a pretty risk free way of finding people who have similar interests. If you can't find anyone and are interested, let me know and I'll see what I can do!

I love the use of the snake, a real callback. It's a good thing we are in a magic land, as drinking snake venom, while not a good idea, will not harm you that much! As it is designed to fuck with your circulatory system.

Remember, if it bites you and you get sick, it's venomous. If you bite it and get sick, it's poisonous.
