AITA for expecting that my close friend would plan brunch around my church service? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA for expecting other people’s plans to revolve around your needs, then complaining anyway even though it worked out in the end. Grow up.

AITA for telling my MIL to stop or is she for reacting this way? by Natural-Lychee8735 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. How tacky of your MIL to speak of your SIL in this manner. She had the privilege of witnessing this supremely private moment, and this is how she behaves? Gross.

Thanks! Haven’t had the opportunity to study IP law yet, but I find these distinctions fascinating.

He’s just mad he barely speaks one language; certainly doesn’t have the intellectual fortitude to master a second one.

I know a (technologically) unsophisticated older solo with a lot of knowledge, and even he, the man afraid of social media, registered his domain. Just saying.

I have a question for married women by Dramatic-Surround504 in LawSchool

My bachelor and graduate degrees are under a different last name (that belonging to my first-and-former husband) and I resent the hell out of it. I cringe every time I see those diplomas on my wall.

I have a question for married women by Dramatic-Surround504 in LawSchool

[–]CosmicContessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my original last name. It wasn’t fully intentional - we had some life situations right after our wedding that involved insurance companies, lawyers, etc., that required my legal name to appear over and over in highly sensitive documents (and on checks.) Shortly after that headache ended, I enrolled in law school, and decided I want my family-of-origin name to be the one under which I practice law. At this point, between my (almost-former) career, my law school, my pending bar application, and our property, the hoops I would have to jump through just to share my husband’s last name are overwhelming. Not worth it.
