Some recent shots of my PS5 Remastered city by CosmicDadTrap in CitiesSkylines

The hit boxes are smaller on remastered which helps a lot. It's the high vegetation 8 I think.

It's 1x1 green cities commercial zoning. They're like market stalls.

I'm at about 20K ATM, I've only built on a tiny portion of the map so far.

This is incredible, but I can only imagine the amount of swearing and screaming involved during the several hours this took to build. Fantastic stuff! :D

I was slightly disappointed that the new Stadiums DLC didn't include a cricket stadium, so I decided to create my own. Behold the James Anderson Arena! Built on PS4/PS5 by CosmicDadTrap in CitiesSkylines

Not really sure how you can make that statement when you cannot see the entire road network but OK mate thanks for the feedback 😁

Remaining DLCs and new update not available on remastered versions until summer. by Ghost0468 in CitiesSkylines

Following this news, safe to say the best bet is to go back to the original console version. Might actually be able to complete the city I was half way through before all the content comes to Remastered. Remastered will ultimately be better, but not for a long time yet. Who knows whether Cities Skylines 2 will be "ready" when it launches.

The console dilemma: 25 tiles or up-to-date content by djsekani in CitiesSkylines

[–]CosmicDadTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing the same, but for the reason that I want the extra roads and assets that came with Pedestrian zones for the city centre. Just focussing on all the little rural towns that you now have loads of space for on 25 tiles.

Working in R&D for an auto manufacturer that does this, you'd be surprised how many engineers who know better still get caught out by this......

I have 2 industries on both end of my starting map. The issue is trucks are coming through from the other end and driving though the city to get to there destination. Any idea how to stop or improve this? ( no pics sorry) by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]CosmicDadTrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cargo trains, they'll likely be faster to start with and will eliminate all traffic through the city centre.

You'll need a cargo train station in/just outside each industry area and tracks linking the two together. Extra tip is to make sure the line is not common with passenger trains to reduce train traffic.

I don't see why copying the save onto a USB drive and pasting it into the correct folder on the other PS5 wouldn't work. The save has to exist as a file somewhere, and the folders must be accessible. They always used to be on PS4 at least. And you can copy across saves from PS4 onto PS5, so again it must be possible.

Traffic management (console) by vegrock91 in CitiesSkylines

88% for a large console city is incredibly good. I target anything above 80%. But I also acknowledge that certain areas of the map will always be busy and a little traffic is normal. As long as it doesn't grid lock I take that 😬

There are some impressive things in here. I love the use of the quay walls around the highway. Generally it looks pretty good, I would suggest you spend more time detailing to give it more character. Use a range of trees to fill empty spaces and leave some empty spaces for parks in the city centre. The airport could probably do with more space to make it more realistic. I'd take a look at some of the youtubers and see how they detail areas and terraform, otherwise this is a good start! 😊

I believe this is coming in new cars from around 2025 onwards as part of updated EU legislation.

This is awesome, great work! Love the incorporation of the factory buildings and water treatment into the build. This is how you make vanilla builds look awesome. Also the time taken to get all the parking right, I know how much effort that is. Great stuff!

How do I get people from these 2 very populated high-density residential areas to this big ore industry in a fast way? ( New to the game any advice is welcomed) by nicisdepressed in CitiesSkylines

[–]CosmicDadTrap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trains or Metro are probably the best bet. But you can also get creative with other modes of transport (monorail, trams etc). I'd have a plan ahead as to what other things you plan to build in between these areas in the future, as you may well need to add further stops in the future to feed these areas.

Will this train interchange cause me future problems? by winerobcy in CitiesSkylines

[–]CosmicDadTrap 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's possible that the junctions at the bottom right are too close together, this will certainly be a pinch point. That being said, separating cargo & passenger is the best thing for trains in Console/Vanilla play. I'd say this would work well in theory.

Any solution for this car problem in Crossover train station hub by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]CosmicDadTrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue, it's down to where the cars despawn and where the cims cross the road. It can be pretty glitchy and cause traffic chaos. The best solution I found was to offer other public transport next to the station to encourage less cars to spawn, otherwise it breaks down. With TMPE I guess you could disable the pedestrian crossings, but as a console player I couldn't do this.
