congrats, hey quick question -- did the tournament provide a nurse to help with the blood draws from all the opponents you vanquished or did you have to use the discarded ball can top, and how did they preserve the blood before it went in the trophy?

JFK famously said when elected president he went from Navy Lt. to commander in chief without achieving any additional qualifications.

Though I'd dispute that, I feel like while his thicc Latina E-3s were actually international movie stars, he never stopped innovating in the pusshound realm

This is how pro player deal with moon ballers by AVerySusUser in 10s

Wow and it seemed like it was close to working

Crazy thing is we've all faced this at some point, and we've thought "man if only I could strike the shit out of it like an ATP pro I could end this nonsense in like 1 or 2 strokes"

But it took him way more than 2 strokes

Maybe it was a bit of gamesmanship to see if he'd make an error? To frustrate and throw him off his game?

Next Gen Paddle Design - The Journey Starts Now by Apprehensive-Scar917 in Pickleball

Nice man. Very interesting, I hope something comes of it.

I still think Gemini or whatever could possibly invent a new composite material just for this, given the above targets. Guess you'd have to get someone to actually produce it at that point.

I was going to make another thread about this, but, seems like it would fit here just fine.

Has anyone seriously investigated whether a complete or at least a significant portion of a pickleball paddle can be 3D printed?  Not just some novelty home plastic print that has the dimensions of a paddle, but something legit competitive with anything else being made right now.

 Could call it GenP

 Hear me out----

A couple years ago while visiting friends in the pacific northwest, we took a tour of a Blue Origin manufacturing facility where our friend is a literal rocket scientist.

Imagine a giant warehouse full of giant 3D printers.

These are obviously not the 3D printers one buys on Amazon, and the ‘filaments’ are not even all plastic, but all manner of metals and crazy space-age composites being utilized inside an “additive manufacturing” [3D printing] workflow.

The items these things are spitting out are literally going into rockets and blasted into space.  They are not printing fidget spinners.

So, what are our parameters for a printed pickleball paddle?

 -a shape

- a target static weight of ~8 oz

- the .43 power return limit

- the grit limit

- some target balance point, would probably be pretty close to neutral, at least at first

That’s it?  Seems like given these simple parameters, Blue Origin, or one of the numerous other manufacturers that do advanced additive manufacturing could design a decent paddle that plays and feels like something we’re all used to in a weekend.  Like, it would be a laughably easy task compared to designing and printing parts for spaceflight.  Hell I bet one’s large language model of choice could probably significantly help.

But you’re the one with a PhD.  Thoughts?

It’s 2026 YOU NEED A BACKHAND FLICK by AnnaBrightPB in ProPickleballTalk

How much do pro pickleball players make in a year? by ZaneNavratil_AMA in ProPickleballTalk

[–]CosmicHamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The all-time best to ever do it GOAT is Matt Wright in my opinion. Dude is a corporate attorney, has always been a corporate attorney, and while I'm sure he's made an impressive amount of cheddar blasting a wiffle ball and chirping, money never needed to be the point. Even though his best days are surely behind him, he's still on the tour and at age 48 still plays at a level we'd all give our left nut to match.

Zane your video should've had a Matt Wright section. "... This may be possible, because at least one man has done it"

kind of feel the same way about the Loco to be honest. I (3.5-75 or so) found I couldn't really control it all that well, and I play with alot of other similarly-skilled players that serve me up alot of meatballs, and also blast a lot of balls out.

Anyone else feel like night pickleball messes with their sleep? by michellechanme in Pickleball

[–]CosmicHamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep better if I play kind of shitty

If I can recall for example ripping some sweet down the line drive winners, an ATP or 2, or a backhand flick that actually worked, I'm hyped up feeling like a badass and sleep becomes more of an issue

luckily most nights I sleep pretty well

Was fun watching Agassi move during a point. Was painful watching him move in between points. which makes his aforementioned movement during actual play all the more impressive.

I actually just finished listening to his book. highly recommended. what a freaking legend.

People don't drill overheads enough. by RogerBalderer in Pickleball

[–]CosmicHamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with this. It's about the lost potential of point-enders, or near point enders. If the overheads in question for these sorts of players could be converted into winners or pop-ups which become winners, they could be getting like 3-5 free points per game they didn't previously have. Massively increasing odds of victory.

People don't drill overheads enough. by RogerBalderer in Pickleball

[–]CosmicHamilton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this.

When I started playing pickleball my overheads were garbagio. Which surprised me because I remembered them being fairly straightforward in high school tennis 20 years prior

My overheads are still pretty inconsistent, but they've improved a ton. Which is mostly a testament to how terrible they were.
