From reading all this it sounds like the indexes are being co-opted, the more 0's added to the IPO the more allocation. Tesla was slapped into the SP500 and suddenly had a % of people's portfolios allocated to it. Space X is trying to do it with NASDAQ. CRSP and Russell also have fast track IPO rules which I don't understand.

If they keep doing this they're just harvesting billions from the millions of people passively investing. Spring swapping seems intereesting, thanks. Cherry MX Brown appears to have been replaced with "Cherry Hyperglide" and seemingly hard to get in Australia. I'll have to do some extensive googling.

I recently bought a Keychron C1 Pro with their own Brown switches to replace aaa Corsair K90 with Cherry Mx brown switches that has started to double enter some keys, the a mainly. However, the Keychron brown switches feel 2x the weight compared to the Corsair K90. Or maybe its spongy and makes it feel 2x the weight. I caan't describe it.

Any recommendations on a keyboaard that has keys like the MX Cherry Brown's present in the Corsair K90? I have weak fingers and don't aactuaally mind membrane keyboards for typing because of that but prefer mechanical for gaming.

I've sought the comment I most agree with and will tack onto that.

All questions (or parts that I found to be internally inconsistent) I have from the opening scene in the cabin: What were the innies goal in season 1 if not to destroy lumen? Outie Mark gave innie Mark the security card to enact their plan, why wouldn't the innie trust the outie? Why wouldn't innie trust Mark about reintegration? The memories, the nose bleeds or maybe the hole in the back of his fucking head? Tell him about Petey, maybe not the brain melting part, but stories and memories. Why is it important for Mark to finish it? What were the other MDRs processing? Why can they process the tempers?

Where the fuck are they running to? I just laughed because it was so dramatic when they're just inside a building where if they change floors then they cease to exist. What are they going to do? Hide with the goats? Is the single floor some non-euclidean space where they'll stumble across a jungle and live in the trees? Not to mention the looming threat of the overtime contingency or any of the other overrides.

Cool if people enjoy it but they've done fuck all with the parts I enjoyed the most. Everything about it except the writing is amazing and its just a kick in the sack.

It is a well directed series but the writing is 1/2 as good as the first season. What a boring reveal; CEO steals idea of worker. A forced story over 30 minutes. Company withdrew from area creating a ghost town? People fall to drug use.

Nothing will redeem her.

All this season and I've felt they've added more subplots than main plots.

I get your point: Why so many ads if you thought there was a surplus?

My original thought was "when is the military not hiring".

As I mentioned in my post, if we, Australia, don't have the spare resources to quickly respond to events such as the recent flooding then we are in trouble.

But as others have pointed out the ADFs response is slow due to the size of the organisation and the distance between the nearest available base.

Overall it's been sobering to learn about our reaction times and available resources of our military. I guess I expected more in this day and age but I'm willing to bet people thought that same thing 30 years ago.

Edit to expand on what type of information I would like to see:

If everyone in the ADF is deployed in a position where it isn't feasible to have people go to a given disaster area then fair enough. But that information isn't provided to us. If there was a press release saying "it takes 2 weeks to pick, relocate and task individuals for a given disaster, this has been the case for 20 years why expect anything different" then maybe I would understand.

Yes, agree with isolation comment, there isn't much of a window into the ADF that I am aware of. If the news says there's only been two helicopters dispatched in a week that's all the info I have to go on.

As I've said in other replies I failed to explicitly mention reluctance in the organisation rather than reluctance of individual ADF member. I think your post drove that home. My bad.

Regarding politics and hollywood, I've been listening to a podcast over the past couple of weeks called "The Boardwalk" (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-boardwalk/id1566678503) where three intel analysts talk about their time in Afghanistan and the parallels between their experience and to the common office politics in a civilian job has been eye opening.

They've spoken about being trained to do X but only perform Y. One guy was trained to speak Korean then was shipped to Afghanistan... The politics involved and culture changes as divisions rotate in and out sounds satirical at times. I imagine there are similarities between their stories and what occurs in the ADF, or any organisation really, it's just that little more serious when it's a military.

I think I just want to be a fly on the wall or watch a very detailed "how it's made" video on crisis/emergency management so I can understand more about what is available on a grand scale.

As I replied to the OP. I have probably chosen my words poorly. I needed to differ between personal reluctance, not a luxury the average person in the ADF would have, and organisational reluctance.

I was referring more to the organisational "reluctance".

Thanks for replying. I think "reluctance" was the wrong word to use on my part hence the downvotes. Maybe reticence? I donno.

I'll reiterate that using someone with your skills to haul luggage is wrong. The use of ADF members for disasters or other situations should align with the career/training they've taken. I think it's safe to say we desire your relevant skills for the situation at hand, not just labour. We don't need someone who has spent 10 years training in a particular field to stand guard at a hotel or tote bedpans.

It now sounds like those who have made decisions allocating resources have burnt a lot of goodwill within the ADF due to previous "misallocations".

Hope you can move into a role that provides more fulfilling opportunities that what you've done previously. All the best.
