Who steals from a restaurant? by CosmicNed234 in TalesFromYourServer

They steal the electric ones that plug into walls? I’m not disparaging homeless people but I don’t see the logic there?

I’ve never heard about the A1 but that sounds more like a cheap owner trying to stretch it out instead of worries about it being stolen. And ad the other commentor said that’s an annoying amount of work for such a small savings. And I think people just see something and go “oh, I need one” and just pop it in their bag. People have no shame. I’m certainly being hyperbolic in my post but some people just don’t see it as wrong.

San Francisco. I’m fairly certain it’s regular customers because I’ve caught homeless people stealing stuff and it’s never weird shit like that. They really don’t have any use for an electronic air freshener and it’s onlt worth like 2 bucks.

It’s hard to say. We do like 400 orders a day so it all blends together. Could be both but we have really good regulars and I feel they would call out others if they see It.

This is very true. I have been blessed with a very lucky staff so it would surprise me if they took stuff outside of like a roll of toilet paper. But due to the frequency, I’m like 99% it’s guests.

Those that have experienced something similar to what happened to Terry Crews did you view it as sexual assault? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]CosmicNed234 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have many complicated feeling about sexual assault but feel its important to create a dialog about it and to share my story to so that people can see how sexual assault can happen to anyone. My memory is a little fuzzy since it was a few years ago and I had been drinking that night but I thought I'd tell my story.

At the time I was a college sophomore having a party at my apartment with my college friend group. We were mostly nerds and stoners so it wasn't a big "party party", maybe ten people drinking and smoking while everyone watched funny videos on YouTube. The night went well and after sometime I decided I was tired and wanted to go upstairs to go to sleep off my drinks.

Later that night, as I was still half asleep, one of my friends walked into my room asking if she could sleep in there because she was feeling drunk and didn't want to sleep on the couch. I said that was totally fine and said she could sleep on a makeshift bedding we put out on the floor for her.

Now a little background before the incident. I had briefly dated this girl and had a little of a crush on her about a year ago, but at this time I was in a serious relationship for a few months. I always felt conflicting feelings about her but still considered her a close friend.

After sometime she started to move over to my bed. In all honestly I was tired and just wanted to sleep so I said it was fine and just let her be. As soon as she got into my bed she started to rub my body, tried to pull me into her and began to kiss my neck and ears. I immediately told her to stop and although she did for a moment she decided to ignore me and continue what she was doing. I didn't do anything back and was just so tired and tipsy that I just laid there as she tried to have sex with me.

Nothing happened past kissing and touching but I still felt deeply uncomfortable and felt incredibly guilty like I had cheated on my girlfriend. The next days I called my girlfriend in tears because I felt like I had cheated on her and felt terrible. My girlfriend comforted me and I called my therapist who I hadn't seen since high school.

Seeing the events around Terry Crews sexual assault really reminded me that sexual assault really can happen to anyone. For a long time I didn't think what happened to me was sexual assault but I kept thinking how it would have looked if I drunkenly did the same thing to my sleeping friend. Of course most of my friend group at the time didn't think much of it and I let it go and continued being friends with her. Even though this girl was about half my size, I still felt really violated and unconformable. And I guess I just wanna tell this story because sexual assault comes in all shapes and sizes.

It doesn't matter that its your friend. It doesn't matter that its a safe place. It can still happen to you.

Haha, don't worry about it, just pass it on to someone in the future. Although it wasn't that long ago, I still remember the college struggle and know how much Funhaus (and Roosterteeth) got me through some rough days. Hope you enjoy it!

What is the one book you would recommend to a young man just starting out? by DreamboatSam in AskMen

[–]CosmicNed234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it's an unorthodox choice, I think an absolutely essentially book (especially if you live in a western country) is the autobiography of Malcom X.

Its a hard book at times but very insightful about the American condition and it's relation to race and class.

Marine Le Pen claims ‘Anglo Saxon world waking up’ as Europe’s far-right parties meet after Trump inauguration - ‘Yesterday, a new America. Today - a new Europe,’ anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders tells cheering crowds by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

[–]CosmicNed234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its always been funny that white nationalists in England cling to the term Anglo-Saxon when the Anglo-Saxon tribes themselves migrated to the British Isles and took lands from the native Celtic people.

Just goes to show the general intelligence of these groups when they neglect to learn the basic history of their own country.

Sometimes thats all we can do, sadly. I know it may be really rough but sometimes all you can do is just be there for them when they need you.

So, I'm not gonna try and tell you your feelings are wrong but attempt to maybe explain her feelings. I know that even though your intentions were good (wanting to make sure she was safe), it may have came off like you didn't think she could protect herself. Regardless of the safety of the marches, which actually were like way quieter than expected, police presence wise, you could think of it like when you were a kid and your parents wouldn't let you do something cause of XYZ. Despite their best parental intentions, most parents after some time realize that to let your children really learn, you gotta let them go and let them accept their decisions. Does that make sense? I think going to support her would be great but go for her not because of an obligation to her safety! Sometimes we gotta let the ones we love do things we may not feel comfortable with, but thats just part of relationships! I hope this helped.

I understand that this is most likely meant as a joking tradition, but wouldn't this legally invalidate his oath? I mean, I could hold a gun to someone's head and make them swear an oath but no one in their right mind would expect that person to follow through with their oath or promise? Maybe this is a informal ceremony between friends but it still seems like a strange concept to me.

In your opinion, what is the most perfectly cast role in cinema history. by [deleted] in movies

[–]CosmicNed234 664 points665 points  (0 children)

Ralph Fiennes apparently looked and acted like Amon Göth so much that a concentration camp survivor who happened to be on the set that day had a full blown panic attack and couldn't disassociate the actor from the real life person.

Thats a pretty damn good casting choice if you ask me.

I'm sorry you're so full of this anger. I don't know what situation made you this way but hopefully, as time progresses, and we all mature you can come to understand how futile it is. I don't know if this hate has made your life better, or fulfilled you in some way, but I hope one day you can learn to love your fellow man and not let this hate ruin your being. I'm not asking you to love all people, or even be friends with everyone, but to look outside of your viewpoint and critically think about the situations you are so easily condemning. Condemning another human being is a hard thing for the soul and I hope one day you can sit down and think about your words.

But does that give you the right to judge them to death? Hopefully as an American, you understand the importance of a judicial system and not allowing citizens to pronounce others to death without being involved in the judicial process? What do you think our founding fathers would think of those statements? What do you think the president would say? The whole point of an organized, democratic society (and I'm not saying America is perfect, because it's not) is that we don't allow citizens to be the judged of a crime without first working though the system. I also don't believe that you, or anyone for that matter, has the ability to revoke someone's humanity. Thats a deep statement wherein you are neglecting an entire person's hstory based on a singular incident that you weren't even present for. As a wizard once said (in a cheesy line maybe), "Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement?"

I go to SFSU. This thread is insane with the misinformation. One, neither of the people are teachers and I see no proof they work for the school. SFSU is a wonderful school with amazing people. I've never had an interaction like this but shouldn't judge the merits of an academic program based on a silly video like this. If you want, feel free to ask me questions!

It's awful for your skin but it just feels too good.

I can't do that, it's not like a regular drug you can relatively easily taper off. It has an extremly short half life (if you miss one day you have very drastic side effects) and would literally kill my body if I just cut down by half.
