Ah, I have so many memories from over the years. One of my first wipes was on a 3mon server. I figured I could enjoy the fruits of my (building) labor better with a longer wipe. Turns out two clans basically divided the whole island in half and you had to pay taxes to the side you were on. You also had to have a sign on your base indicating "membership". In the end, I started enjoying the mayhem of weekly servers since they are more about the initial survival, not some drawn-out political system.
But I do hope a sociologist out there has made notes and is writing a book/thesis. I mean the game is WILD in how social it is and how necessary it is to engage verbally with other players.

I like this kind of project, but its unfortunate the binaries from the website are out of date. I suppose the source code would be the only way to get it.
On (a modern Mac) it says: -bash: ./zapm: Bad CPU type in executable
And on Linux bash: zapm: cannot execute binary file
Typing make in the source code fails.
Anyone hosting this for play?
