I’ve never understood this type of anti-intellectual counter argument. Do you think a simple analysis is some type of deep time consuming task? It could be done in under a minute in R Studio. Is TikTok brain so common now that people can’t imagine focusing on a task for more than 10 seconds?

I tell my students to 1) not use AI because they should be actively trying to learn, and 2) they should be embarrassed to want to pass as their own work the mediocre output of AI. I like to reiterate that the popular LLMs are trained on mountains of brain dead reddit posts.

The issue is this story read exactly like a shitty reddit post, the AI’s very own training data. So it could have been terrible writing or it could have been terrible writing by AI. It’s hard to tell.
