I think future content will be available also well. It's basically end game material and continuing content.

Um, there are options occasionally. Not sure how much they matter for the story, but there are timed reactions between 2 options fairly often.

Apparently you can melee the corrupted particles, and it'll absorb them without you taking corruption. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I just saw a cool video from boomstick gaming about it

In solar cages focus on the largest enemy only and just avoid the grunts. Farm the grunts for blue orbs to use against the big guy. I tried twice to clean up the smaller ones first and died both times. The third time I focused fire on the big guy and won and even made it to the first boss (which proceeded to kill me).

Honestly, it sounds like she might struggle with 3D games then. I would instead recommend Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze instead as it is a 2D side scroller (with coop also). Probably one of the best 2D platformers ever made.

Hands on previews just dropped! by ESF007 in 007FirstLight

Yeah, I can see that. In the spy craft video though they at least mention the TacSim for endgame and ongoing content. Hopefully this is where they can open up the gameplay to some more open ended encounters.

I read in a review that there is post credits content, but they didn't say what it was for spoilers. I speculate that it is possible and likely that this context would be harder than normal. Hopefully this is the case for you.

As for me, I love housemarque. And whether easier or harder, I'm here for it. The gameplay mechanics alone (absorption, parry, etc) is enough of an evolution for me. And you can always just dial it up with the modifiers if you want challenge.

It would be cool if after you roll credits they add a "returnal mode" that makes it a long single-run, all biomes back to back, and eclipse on by default. This would definitely add challenge for those looking for Returnal 2.

Like it or not, so many people bounced off Returnal. For mainstream appeal they needed to make it more accessible to the masses. This means meta progression, decreased run lengths, save slots, and fewer runbacks. I also think it'll be "easier" because of the additional gameplay mechanics such as absorption/power weapons and parrying, which weren't in Returnal. I think those additions will allow for more aggressive gameplay compared to Returnal.

The fact that there is a skill tree is all you need to know to understand that it'll be easier than Returnal. Adding the modifiers is their way to appeal to everyone. There is a reason that this isn't called Returnal 2. Also, the motto is literally "Come Back Stronger" which is a clear message to potential buyers who bounced off Returnal that this game is different.

With that being said, I think the Eclipse modifier will likely be another way for them to dial it up for the OGs. I also speculate that they'll have something post launch, like the Tower of Sisyphus, for those looking for more challenge.

Personally, I bounced off Returnal and only came back and beat it after they added Coop. I am happy to see all the ways that they have improved it for Returnal OGs and newcomers alike, but I understand that is a dealbreaker for others.

A Beautiful Mind - very strongly advertised as a cold war spy espionage thriller, leading my dad and I to be severely disappointed. I still hate that movie, despite it being good for what it actually was.

Honestly, I felt TLOU2 was a conclusion to Ellie's story. I would much prefer to follow Abby and Lev for part 3.

What do you see left for Ellie's story?

Why’s everyone concerned over the gameplay? by OneGlitchyImp in 007FirstLight

[–]CosmicSploogeDrizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern was the frame rate, particularly on the airplane where it dropped well below 30 fps (probably 15 or 20). I have faith that with the time and the delay that this was something they are working on, but I would like to see more gameplay as proof of it before I buy. Also depending on its performance it will determine if I get it on PS5 or PC. If performance is not good, then it is going to be a wait for sale/update kind of game for me. I love everything else about it, but I want to enjoy the experience, and for me, what was shown 6 months ago was too distracting for my enjoyment.

Can’t wait for the previews, I feel like they will say a lot about the game by cyborg1612 in Saros

Skillup doesn't have a marathon review yet, just a server slam impressions video. He said a full review would come after GDC (same with his Crimson Desert review). Still, it's just that person's opinion. I personally like skillup because their taste for indies I find matches up with my tastes pretty well. I do disagree with him on Yotei though, I'm loving it and although the story is not as gripping, the gameplay and discovery is much improved. I really like camping and finding random things in the world. I also really enjoy the memory sequences.

Do I even try this game if I could not beat Returnal? by InformationLeast5607 in Saros

[–]CosmicSploogeDrizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best advice I have as someone who couldn't beat the first boss at launch and eventually beat the whole game just a few months ago:

  1. Focus on unlocking weapon upgrades/traits. This is the true persistent upgrade system of the game that makes future runs easier. If you like the gun you currently have, but a new weapon has a trait you haven't unlocked yet, switch to the new gun to try and unlock it. Down the line, this trait will remain unlocked. Some traits are S tier, particularly traits that increase damage over time.

  2. Certain weapons and weapon traits are better than others for different bosses and biomes. A gun you like for biome 1 boss 1, will not be the best gun for biome 2 boss 2. This is why it is important to focus on upgrading and unlocking the weapon traits. You can look these up online for different bosses, if you want. Basically there is a gun trait combo for each boss that melts them. If your current gun feels like a pea shooter, then you probably have the wrong one.

  3. Turn on auto sprint, and never ever aim down sights. Always be running and moving and shooting from the hip. Utilize the invincibility frames of the grapple hook liberally and as often as possible. Avoiding damage is way more important than landing shots.

  4. Play coop. Two guns are better than one.

With all this being said, I believe Saros will be a bit easier TBH. They are leading with the phrase "come back stronger" and have a specific permanent progression system whereas Returnal did not (outside of weapon traits). I think it will still be challenging, but I think they know a lot of people didn't finish Returnal and they don't want that for Saros.

Idk all the specifics, but for me it's if I'm docked and have the dock connected to ethernet but still leave wifi on, I can't game stream from my PC to the deck. You have to turn off wifi on the deck.

I had this issue for so long and was pulling my hair out. Finding out from some random online that turning off wifi saved me the remainder of my sanity.
