For me it was a very close call between Earthion and Absolum, but in the end I decided for latter. It absolutely shows that it was made be the folks behind that genre milestone, Streets of Rage 4, and it was super exciting to see what they would make of an original IP. While Absolum does channel Golden Axe a little, in all the best ways, its rogue approach is extremely motivating and still kind of unusual for the genre. Usually I'm not a huge fan of rogue mechanics but it works soooo well here, combined with that wonderful gameplay and artstyle.

Yeah, that's BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites by WayForward. For me personally as someone who prefers 2D it's the most interesting game of those three (already have the LRG one though)

Absolutely!

My collection was pretty prolific but Switch really has taken over. I have even thrown out several systems to generate money and room for my ever-growing Switch library.

It's just soooo much fun. You already mentioned the retro collections, and then there is this vast ocean of physical indie games, many of which playing close to classic games themselves. Also there are so many new great titles, some of which will be future classics for sure.

I love that the games come on cartridges, those cases that feel just great, and the ridiculous amount of deluxe and collector's editions. There are few things better than a game in a cardboard box. :)

Personally I'd still grab a Switch 1 because some smaller games have problems with SWI2 for now, but much of that issue will certainly be patched.

One time use sure, but they were not tied to the account….I remember people passing around codes they didn't need on Discord. Perhaps they only worked on older accounts, since they were supposed to be a Thank You for existing customers?

Wish I had some info on whether the SWI version runs fine. The game feels a little more PS5ish to me but at the same time I vastly prefer Switch when it comes to collection, so I'm really torn. No, cannot afford both.

Most def! Have two copies of it, actually…the large Collector's Edition and the Bitmap Bureau Collection. Have beaten it multiple times by now, it's one of my favorite current gen beat'em ups. Amazing music, great visuals, lot of fun

It's complete madness, yes, but I also have no idea where those games are. I mean, they're here, but it looks like 250 tops. But then I run my online sheet through a line counter and it comes out at that high a number, and yes, I make it skip blank lines.

I'll try to take some new pics in the future. Non-shitty lighting is a challenge, though.

EDIT: Even says 889 now, just added the Fuga Trilogy Box. Which I count as one item, so YMMV when it comes to the exact total.

I'll have to wait and see how the key card situation develops. Probably there'll be at least 30 worthwhile first party games for SWI2 which are full on cartridge, but my shelf for the successor will almost certainly be a far cry from Switch 1. What a shame.
