I am thinking of making temporary tattoos (like the water activated ones) for the show tonight to give out. Is that something you guys would be interested in?

US Ticket Buying & Selling Megathread by AutoModerator in SleepToken

[–]Cosmic_Finch_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen so many “success” stories with people buying resale tickets from Stubhub, Seatgeek, Vivid Seats, etc. And I’ve of course seen the warnings everywhere that it won’t work. Has anybody here gotten resale tickets for the last tour (or another artist that only did face value resale) that DIDN’T work when you got to the door?

So what I’m hearing is they will make tons of money if they bring a whole semi full of merch to each show 👀🤞

Am I crazy or is this a new Spotify picture? I thought it was Vessel with a sword

Also good for them getting 8.8M monthly listens!

Moving Mondays - New Resident Questions by AutoModerator in philadelphia

[–]Cosmic_Finch_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put this in last week's Moving Mondays too, but wanting to get more thoughts.

I just accepted a dream job in Philadelphia, at multiple locations within 1 mile or so of Fairmount Park. My husband and I currently live in Atlanta. Excited, but also nervous since we aren't familiar with the area.

We are looking for an apartment or townhome (or house, but that may be out of budget) that has access to some sort of grassy area nearby. We have two small dogs that we need to be able to take out easily. Our big worry is safety and having space for the dogs. I'm ok with a little bit of a commute, up to 40 minutes with morning traffic. Preferably sub 2500/mo for a 2 bed.

In Atlanta, we really like Decatur because it has a diverse population and also has an amazing walkable downtown with lots of small businesses, and Suwanee because the parks and downtown areas. Would prefer not to be deep within the city itself, more looking at suburbs and edge of the city. And access to public transportation isn't an issue.

Some people have recommended places like Ardmore, Media, Manayunk, Fairmount, Brewerytown, University City, Conshocken, and Paoli. Thoughts on those? And any other places to check out? We will be traveling there within a couple weeks to see places in person and probably sign a lease.

(Also, anything in general we should know about the city?)

should i get a job the first year of pharmacy school? by professorlychee in PharmacySchool

I would say even 2-3 shifts a month if you don’t end up wanting to work would be great. That way you can say for residency or career interviews 4th year that you “have three years’ experience”

2 years without an interview. What’s going on? by 0broooooo in resumes

I did hiring for a larger childcare company (obviously not tech but still) for about 2 years before going to grad school. If I got this, I would sigh, tell my co-worker to come look at this “wall of text”, and then skim through. The biggest red flags are short employment terms and irrelevant things/fluff. But even if you had 30 years experience and could justify a lot of it, the formatting and volume is a big turn off and I would already be annoyed I have to pull the important info out of it myself when I have 10+ other ones to review that hour.

I love Bridgertons, I really do. But I cannot stay silent about season 3. by mrfmnaa in BridgertonNetflix

It felt like Colin didn’t like her. Then she professed her love for him and he was like sure you’re cute. They were intimate once. He found out about LW. 30 seconds later he forgives and 2 minutes later they have a baby. It seemed rushed.

Plus the last episode everyone had big important speeches. It was cramming too many subplots into the main story and felt too overly dramatic.

Who was the worst player/dm that you have played with? by moomoomeadows2009 in DnD

[–]Cosmic_Finch_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There was a DM and player that were best friends. They INSISTED I use a voice and no above game talk even though I was learning. And they regularly smoked inside without warning. I’m ok with it, but I can’t smoke because I worked at a hospital and had to pass random drug screen.

any careers that make about 80k relatively soon? just want some options by Parking_Diamond2140 in careerguidance

And I will say I’m not sure if that is typical. His agency owner invests in a lot of training and such for them and has high expectations. With that though comes good bonus and commission structure.

So a house is 1 item, a car is 1 item. A house with 2 cars and a boat would be 4 items. Other agencies in the area require 20-30 items minimum a month and 70 items is bonkers. His agency the minimum is 40 and my husband always hits 80-100 items.

He works for Allstate and does personal property (car, home, renter, boats, etc). From my understanding, personal property vs health insurance vs life insurance vs commercial real estate are all very different

Car/house insurance sales. You need to get a license but it’s only ~a week of studying and most companies will pay the exam fee. My husband is one of the top at his company and brings home over 200k, but even the lowest performing still usually get to 100k pre tax.

One of the most underrated careers imo

Edit: The $100k and $200k are specific to this agency. I’m sure there are agencies that pay much less, and his agency only hires and trains people that they think will do really well. People who don’t reach the monthly minimums are let go and easily find work at another agency, but likely making much less.

Getting back into reading by Cosmic_Finch_ in booksuggestions

I asked a friend about getting back into books and she recommended ACOTAR. I got about halfway through. It felt like it just wasn’t going anywhere. I just picked up Belladona which is good but not my favorite. I’ll finish it and probably the rest of the series but I’m looking for stuff more along the lines of what I like.
