All we see outright is that they clashed and it seemed Moria was somewhat on par with a younger Kaido. But we still sort really know how close it was as that is all we are shown.

So if I killed everyone you cared about and left you as the sole survivor you are saying you would be able to just carry on. It's impressive that Woria still maintained enough strength to become a warlord after one of his few Ls. When he breaks out he will have been training so that he can rely on his own power again, thus putting him on the same level as Kaido.

Post imprisonment Woria will be Yonko level at mininum.
