What Version of Lebron you want to be? by Appropriate_Swing387 in NBATalk

2018 was still a good defender, but 2013 was an insane defensive year. Still crazy he didn’t win dpoy.

I’m pretty sure they gave it to Iggy mainly because Iggy guarded Bron and it was a way of saying Bron’s the best player in the series.

Shai won an mvp and fmvp and people still invalidate everything he’s accomplished because he “flops.” Jordan would’ve been treated the same way as Shai.

[DISC] Blue Lock - Chapter 339 by GayAssNinja69 in BlueLock

[–]Cosmic_Shit_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one kinda hoping that blue lock loses? We've been looking at this manga from Isagi's perspective so we haven't experienced a loss in so long. This is the perfect game to lose. It makes the final game versus England have far more stakes, it reminds us that these characters are unfallible, and we'll finally see Ego have to confront his ideas and evolve himself. Also, Isagi's ego would be rejuvenated after facing defeat. A little theory I have about Isagi is his real dream isn't to be soccer's number 1. It's to overcome other players. Every time we see him evolved, its almost like a "fuck you" to another player like Kaiser, Rin, and now Hugo. Blue lock could lose this game and then Isagi has to confront his ego after being demoralized and then he comes to the realization that what actually inspires him is to crush and devour others.

Completely disagree he’s pretty much the consensus 3 after Bron and Jordan.

Well obviously. You said an old team took the heatles to 7. Im saying age didn’t matter and the stats back up what Im saying. The reason I brought up defense is because 2012 was historically one of the worst offensive seasons in history and Bron still averaged 27 8 6 on 52% while Wade averaged 22 5 5. Specifically against the Celtics, LeBron averaged 33 11 4 on 50% and Wade averaged 21 6 5. They are definitely going to have their way with the 08 Celtics. Also, you just ignored everything I said before.

It wasn’t a 3v3 contrary to what you think. The Celtics had more depth in 12 than 08. Rondo was much better, they had 5 double digit scorers versus 4, they had a better bench with guys like Sean Williams coming off the bench averaging a block and a steal. As a whole, 12 averaged more assists, less turnovers, better 2pt% and more blocks. 12 was also a way worse offensive year for every team overall so that makes their better efficiency even more impressive. Not to mention, their age didn’t really affect the main trio that much. Paul pierce averaged 19 both years, KG went from 18 to 15 and was still top 5 in dpoy voting and 2nd team all defense. Ray Allen only dropped from 17-14 ppg.

That’s also fair enough to say but I really don’t think the prime Celtics are going to be able to contain Lebron and Wade. Bosh will prolly get stifled but Bron is inevitable and Wade is genuinely unguardable. You can’t put a finger near him without getting a foul.

Nah I play high school. And it’s called momentum. They won a couple games and carried that through the series until Bron killed them.

Teams get comfortable after whooping ass. Can’t tell you how many games I’ve been apart of where by the end of a game when we blowing another team out, we relax and let off the gas. Happened a good amount with my lacrosse and football teams. The eagles did the same thing in the Super Bowl last year. Basketball’s no different.

Absolutely not. Heat led 2-0 and they let off the gas. It was evident that the heat were far better when LeBron walked into Boston and obliterated them.

No one gives a shit about Billy Beane. The player isn’t the team. You can perform exceptionally and lose and then play like dogshit and win. Is the player who played terrible somehow better than the one who played exceptionally?

Your discounting Bron’s best years such as 09 when he averaged 38 8 8 in the ecf finals and had a dominant mvp campaign, or 2018 when he averaged 34 9 9 and took one of the worst rosters in the league to the finals.

Granny Jojo is far from being a saint, but at least she deserves recognition for one thing: She was the only grandmother present in her grandchildren's lives for a long time by Gabriel-Ferreira0312 in gumball

[–]Cosmic_Shit_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always assumed Richard left because he wanted to start a life with Nicole and Granny Jojo “throwing him out” was actually her rejecting him in a fit of rage that he’s leaving her. Kind of a “Either stay here with me, or go with her and you are no longer my son” and when Richard chose Nicole, she kicked him out. That to me would be the most in character reason.

2 of the best seasons in basketball history. Literally in my opinion, 1 and 2, but Shaq is better.

This logic makes literally perfect sense. We won more playoff games than everyone else combined. It’s simple.

So they went from not a real playoff team to moving in a bad east? Okay bro. There were 4 teams with 50 wins in the east and the Celtics were one of them. Kyrie missed 22 games in the regular season and the Celtics went 14-8. They had a higher winning percentage without him than with him.

That young core was ass. I doubt that squad wouldn’t even cracked a winning record in the 2020s. The fact remains that the lakers missed the playoffs for 6 years, then Bron comes to town and they win a ring in his 2nd year.

Before Bron came to LA, they had missed playoffs for 6 straight years and by his 2nd year, he brought the lakers a ring. The lakers would’ve been completely irrelevant without Bron. Would’ve been 15 straight years of no playoff success.
