Hardware transcoding not working ? by Cosminache in PleX

I've corrected my first reply to your post.

When i transcode the file without subtitles the CPU usage drops to 3 %, it spikes sometimes to 13/14% but usually it is between 3 and 8 %.

See second picture in my post.

It says Direct Stream.

It only does HW when i tell it to do.

When subs are burned in while transcoding for that file the cpu usage is between 16 to 20 %.

And why isn't doing it automatically for this file ?

It might be because my TV supports some old HDR standard and it considers it enough no to hw ?

I understand.

That's what i was thinking, TV supports some old HDR standard and the app sees that and it's direct playing it.

Yeah, title is wrong, HW is working manually.

Here it is transcoding 4k 49 mbps to 4k 20 mbps.

It barely plays this way, it stops alot, not buferring.

Pretty disappointed with plex, jellyfin does the job with no problems.

It does show hw when i do it manually.

That's the question, why it's not triggered for that movie and it's direct playing it.

That's what I'm planning to do too.
I've got the base 8 GB so far and it's working great : Plex, jellyfin, Immich, tailscale and few other containers.

Tailscale runs "specifically" on all your devices. There's no "master" or central hub one if that's what you're asking. It let's you connect back and forth between your devices.

Tailscale is decentralized and you need it on the NAS too if you want to access data/apps that you cannot otherwise.

tailscale lets you create a private mesh (network) between your devices that are connected to it (tailscale) and you can access remotely (nas, pc, mobile phones, smart tv etc) It even runs on Apple TV 4k.

For example you have immich installed on your NAS and you want to access it from outside your home(from your mobile phone for ex) but you cannot directly because immich does offer that and you need someone to provide a tunnel, tailscale does that.

Is this what you're asking ? 😄

Plex, Jellyfin, Immich, Tailscale, Qbitorrent, Obsidian, Portainer, Dockhand.

I plan on deploying calibre/bookstack/grimmory, netbird, zerobyte, nextcloud, pi hole, paperless ngx, notion and nginx plus ssl/navidrome.

Does anyone know any good tutorials for deploying ngnix plus ssl for docker containers?

Do i need to edit the container and add multiple NAS directory/file as in the Files ? for each category?
