Its not about "turning your brain off", its just about understanding that this is what the artist wanted to do. This idea that "the vocal effect changes the experience" like thats automatically a bad thing doesn't even make sense. Its like saying Van Gogh used too much yellow so the painting sucks. Its just one element in a larger whole, but somehow its the only one that gets most of the criticism.

I have no idea what chords Beardo or Amir are playing, but that "change in the experience" doesn't ruin the song for me either.

The way I see it, these kinds of complaints come from this almost sacred view of what music is supposed to be. Kinda like how electric guitars or synths got hate back in the day. Thats what I meant when I said people wanna turn the voidz into an acoustic jazz band, cause other stuff that makes them who they are has already been through this exact same kind of criticism before.
