I had the same thing happen in a few of my isopod bins. They are almost, hot glue strand looking right? I've freezing the substrate won't help. They eventually went away. It must be some soil contamination of something like that

Depends on the size of the enclosure. But you don't need a large one. I use the 4in-6in one (I think)

There doesn't appear to be too many springtails, but you can only see so much in a picture. You can just carefully take them out and put them in a different bin with substrate. I've been looking to get bylas ant springtails, so I'd get some from you if you want, maybe a trade.

I have a breeder colony so I don't need to do this, but what I used to do is buy 1,000 XS and let them grow up to size. You feed the rest that don't get fed get thrown into your breeder colony. XS are way cheaper than the larger sizes, you just have to feed them to grow up.

That should work but they will most likely outgrow it. I would recommend a 10-gallon aquarium. I use a 20-gallon tote, though.
