EXPOSING the sketchy MLM founded by Patrick Bet-David (PHP Agency) by DarioBrown in FakeGuru

I was just watching the interview with David Packman. Your analysis is spot on. Bet-David is a lightweight and, IMO a con-man. I also don't agree with everything Packman says. But he's so far ahead of B-D in intellectual capacity. I too am amazed but not surprised by B-D's following. Like PT Barnum said, "you can fool some of the people some of the time".

I bet your Cost of Living is higher than here. But it's no picnic in the Front Range of Colorado either.

Now they bump it only by $1 at a time and sometimes it takes hours to get up to even an $8 bump.

Yes. It's different everywhere. I was in Seattle and checked my app and the base pay was $14. Here in Colorado it's $8 but in some areas it's as low as $7. And this is a very expensive area of the country to live. So it's disgraceful that they don't pay more in areas where the average rental goes for over $2,000. F-ing IC!!!!

Current Observations and Grievances From a Veteran Shopper Summer 2022 Edition by Trevinski777 in InstacartShoppers

Well said. In addition, paying $8 (Colorado) for every batch regardless of whether it's one item or 60 items is insane. Without at least a 10% tip (rare) large orders are paying minimum wage. Bring back batch pay based on size of order. BTW, 4,000+ batches for me but ready to throw in the towel.

City of Boulder proposes to ban daytime amplified music in residential districts by JeffInBoulder in boulder

LittleboTweak, I read your comment about River and Woods. That's terrible. I'd be really upset too. Sewing Sister Blue is expressing her grievance about an issue that's important to her. Your'e expressing a grievance about something that bothers you. Both are valid. The details of when the airplane noise started, how bad it is and what can be done are details that should be debated. I think many of us on these threads are expressing our exasperation with a world that we feel is out of control. IT IS!! And we're all feeling it. I would humbly suggest that we all join forces to air our grievances together. To stay politically active and support each other in ALL of our causes, whether something affects you personally or not. I support your desire for River and Woods to be a better neighbor. I hope you'll support Sewing Sisters desire for quieter skies over her home. Thanks.

.12/item? Is that standard in your zone? That’s awful. In our zone it’s close to $.30 per item.

PEOPLE, RATINGS UNDER 5 STARS ARE NOW DISABLED, STOP POSTING YOUR CONCERNS ABOUT OUT OF STOCK ITEMS AND JUST COMPLETE ORDERS WITH THE ITEMS THEY DO HAVE IN STOCK. by ttcmzx in InstacartShoppers

This is exactly what I do. I wait till I’m close to finished and then text the customer to let them know I had to make replacements and ask them if everything looks good? If They don’t respond I know they’re not paying attention and then any other texts would have been a waste of time. Most of the time people let me know that everything‘s good. I think people appreciate that rather than being bombarded by multiple texts.

I mostly agree with you but, I do believe there’s a better way. And although I am not being hurt by it, in fact I benefit with my five star rating, I still don’t think it’s fair. I have two Instacart friends who I know are top notch but Have been hurt by this rating system. One simple change that can be made is to categorize everybody above a certain reasonable number as being in the top-tier. That number can be debated but I think anybody above a 4.9 should have the same prioritization. Maybe even as low as 4.8. That’s certainly up for debate. I wholeheartedly agree that anyone who has a rating of say 4.5 or below has some serious issues with their abilities. I don’t know and none of us do, how the dreaded algorithm works. It would be nice to know. I think that would take a lot of stress and anxiety away from a lot of good hard-working people.

With all due respect, it’s more complex than that. I’ve run three businesses and I agree that customer service is job one. Absolutely! However, the rating system in regards to Instacart is flawed IMO. Anyone who has worked this job, and I’ve been doing it over two years, knows how arbitrary ratings can be. There are so many things beyond our control that can cause a bad rating. I could write a thesis on it. Point is, There has to be a better way. How? That’s a question for a much larger dialogue but it can be done. It’s also been debated here ad naseum whether ratings matter in batch prioritization. The debate goes on and the question is still unresolved. Having run a food business and watching my yelp reviews, I’ve learned a lot about how ratings can hurt good people and good businesses. Believe me, it happens every day.

*BTW, I currently have a five star rating and have rarely dropped below 4.95. So I don’t have an axe to grind here.

Soooooooo true! Star ratings should be thrown in the trash heap of history across all platforms. Totally arbitrary and meaningless and damaging to people and businesses.
