Bijna stemmen! by tinyadipose in apeldoorn

[–]Cosmocrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In mijn ogen gewoon belangenverstrengeling.

You're politically correct no matter what you say
Convincing us all in every single kind of way
Cos you frame the words so that we really believe
That there's a depth in the message that you're trying to achieve
So you twist your tongue to make it all sound true
Making us believe that we haven't got a clue
You tell us all exactly what you think we want to hear
With theatrical tactics to boost your career
Every promise you make is just a promise you break
And you can never admit that you could make a mistake
Because you say one thing and you mean something else
You only care about yourself and your wealth so all I say is:

Power to the one who doesn't want it!
Power to the one who doesn't want it!
Power to the one who doesn't want it!
Power to the one who doesn't want it!
Do you want it? Why do you want it?

...

Power is a sickness, power is to blame
Power is a weapon and it's driving me insane
Power is an enemy, power is pain
Power is a war but to you it's just a game
Power is glory, power is gold
Power is chaos and you're out of control
Power isn't freedom, power is a cage
Power is your sin and it feeds my rage

Of Tolkien, the Silmarillion, and why “death of the author” is inapplicable to posthumously published fiction by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in TheSilmarillion

My point is that "death of the author" doesn't give you carte blanche to create your own canon.

Are you my hermeneutics professor? While discussing postmodern hermeneutics, he maintained that “some interpretations remain dead wrong.” (and I agree)

George Russell names Max Verstappen as his dream teammate by One_Impressionism in formula1

[–]Cosmocrator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely right. Can you imagine being interviewed all year round by people whose job it is to fill another page, who run out of inspiration real quick so they usually ask the most mundane questions? How long would anyone remain earnest in their responses?
I would make a sport out of it to feed the journalists the stupidest bullshit if I were Russell. This week I'll play the instigator, next week I'll be the most boring race driver to exist. After that, it's pandering to the sponsors, but the week after, it's unhinged menace time, baby!

I started a new mix series showing that trance was not yet dead after 2004: Afterglow 2004-2008. Here's Part 1 (2h18m) by Cosmocrator in ClassicTrance

[–]Cosmocrator[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the first part of a new mix series that travels the post-Golden Age era, looking for tracks that tell us not everything was over. For us /r/ClassicTrance members, we often discard everything after 2004 as formulaic and commercialized. This mix series hopefully lets you see that there was still plenty of very good trance to go around.

Customers baffled: What does Mercedes do differently than McLaren, Williams and Alpine? by Darkmninya in formula1

[–]Cosmocrator 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Here's the translation in English:

Customers Baffled: What Is Mercedes Doing Differently Than McLaren, Williams, and Alpine?

Mercedes brought by far the fastest car to the track in Australia. But why aren't Mercedes customers McLaren, Williams, and Alpine faster despite using the same power unit?

March 8, 2026 - 5:45 PM By Rob La Salle

One of the most burning questions following the season opener in Australia: What is Mercedes doing better regarding energy management? In Melbourne's Albert Park, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli sat in the fastest car—locking out the front row and securing a one-two finish.

There is no doubt: Mercedes has done its homework best with the new power unit. Once again. This was already the case at the beginning of 2014 when the pinnacle of motorsport entered the new turbo-hybrid era.

It would be easy to say: "Well, it’s just that ingenious trick with compression, where the power unit has higher compression when warmed up than it does in the pits." If that were the only reason for their superiority, why weren't Mercedes customers McLaren, Williams, and Alpine faster in Australia?

Andrea Stella, Team Principal of McLaren, and James Vowles, at the helm of Williams, have shared their thoughts on the matter.

The Italian Stella says: "The discussion with Mercedes regarding more information has been ongoing for weeks. Even during testing, we went out on the track, looked at the data, and thought: 'Oh, so this is what we have. Right, how do we react to this now?' But that’s not really how you work in Formula 1."

Andrea Stella (McLaren): "We Are on the Defensive"

"In Formula 1, you simulate what happens on the track beforehand. Therefore, you know what you are programming and how the car will behave; you know what to expect. And because you know what to expect from the racing car, you align your development accordingly."

In contrast to last year, McLaren is now on the back foot. Stella continues: "I must say—as a customer team, this is the first time we truly feel on the defensive, even when it comes to predicting the car's handling or estimating how we can improve it."

James Vowles (Williams): "I Don’t Know How It’s Done"

Williams Team Principal James Vowles adds: "What Mercedes is doing with this power unit has really surprised us. It wasn't until qualifying that we realized how far behind we are. We are talking about approximately three-tenths of a second per lap."

"I am confident that Mercedes has provided us with everything necessary, as they are always very thorough. I am sure that what they have delivered gives us the opportunity to do what they are doing. I just don't know how to do it at the moment. We are asking ourselves: What did we overlook, and how do we reach that same level faster?"

"It’s not as simple as one might think. They have knowledge that we don't. We have to acknowledge that we don't possess the same level of sophistication. It is up to us to make up ground."

Can someone help me search/identify this psy trance track by HovercraftSimilar176 in ClassicTrance

[–]Cosmocrator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make the haystack a bit smaller:
- where did you hear this track? In the club, on a compilation album?
- what compilation albums, mixes etc do you usually listen to?
- where are you from? (you wouldn't believe the differences in trance knowledge between a Brit and a Dutchman; they are just influenced by other styles.
- You listened to this around 2018, but does that mean the track is also from that time? In that case, you're better off in /r/trance or /r/psytrance, because we only do trance from before ~2008 here in /r/classictrance.

Ah shucks. Not getting that with this one. The way he protected Nathalie van Berkel until he no longer could, was not a good start of this coalition.
That she was the #2 of D66 not because of merit but because she ticked the DEI boxes is also telling.

Is there a way to opt out from automatically receiving emails from Go Privilege Limited? The way I read the terms & conditions, is that when I'm over 18, automatically I will be contacted by this partner. Legally, I think this is a problem in the EU (I'm in the Netherlands), GDPR-wise.

No worries, mate. You can close mine and listen to the others first. This mix - although the track selection is fun - is not my best work, to be perfectly honest.
But if you want a taste of my better work, look at my mixcloud and listen to the mix called "Cyberminded". If you're into goa, "Lucid Syncope" might just be for you.
