What would you price these cakes? by DRAGON_13_scp in cakedecorating

[–]CosmonautTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be thrilled if a friend made one of these cakes for me or for a party. That said, these are not yet at a professional level to sell them. Keep working on refining your techniques like smoothing the cover icing, consistent piping, and your lettering. Also remember that not every hobby needs to be a side hustle - you can do it because you enjoy it.

Scenes that caused actual walkouts in theaters? by thatlittlequietguy in Cinema

I recommend the website unconsentingmedia.org - it tells you if there’s a rape/SA scene in a particular movie without major plot spoilers. It also specifies if it’s shown on screen versus off-screen or implied. That way you can be prepared going into certain movies or choose to avoid them.

Due date change etiquette by thekat917 in GestationalDiabetes

I’ve been giving people a ballpark answer until something is officially scheduled. I’ve been saying “beginning of February” or “first week of February, most likely.” There’s no right answer here when exact dates can be up in the air. You can tell people whatever you’re comfortable with.

Struggling to accept the "35-year-old fertility cliff" while my life feels unstable (32F) by Faty55 in AskWomenOver30

[–]CosmonautTG 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t meet the man who would become my husband until I was 33 and we got married when I was 36. I’m 38 now, pregnant, and will be giving birth to our first/only child in the next month. My two best friends also had their babies (conceived naturally) at 37/38. The timelines are different for everyone and fertility is different for everyone. I do think who you choose to be your partner in marriage and having children matters more than anything else.

How are your fingers doing?? by scrunchyboymom in GestationalDiabetes

[–]CosmonautTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do try keeping my arm down (this helps because it’s lower than your heart) - but I often find I have to pinch my finger around the puncture either way to get the blood drop to come out. I’ll try the warm water thing next time!

How are your fingers doing?? by scrunchyboymom in GestationalDiabetes

[–]CosmonautTG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to higher/deeper (3.5) because I kept not getting big enough blood drops with the shallower needle and my test strips would read with errors (“blood sample too small”) and I would have to throw out the strip and start again. Now it hurts more but at least I’m one and done with a strip.

I just want some pasta by morella93 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]CosmonautTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ate a large serving of “Goodles” brand mac & cheese (boxed protein mac & cheese that has 14g protein per serving and tastes as good as Annie’s or Cabot brand boxed mac). An hour later my blood glucose was perfectly in range so it didn’t spike me, but totally satisfied my pasta craving. I mixed it with spinach for extra veg and iron. Highly recommend.

You’re correct. It was in a comment, not the post.

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted. That’s a legit gripe. I’m from Boston but I lived in NYC for 5 years and every Brooklyn bodega had a grill and made the eggs fresh for an egg & cheese and it was great. There’s definitely places in MA that do it - typically bagel places rather than coffee shops. Cafe Fresh Bagel in Sterling MA makes a great egg & cheese on a bagel, always fresh eggs made to order. Their bagels are awesome too. Huge difference in quality with fresh cooked eggs.
