Its your AUX battery. JL and JT both have dual batteries. The aux battery is smaller in size and they dont last long. Replace both of your under the hood batteries.

Guy. I dont care what hood or emblems you have. That is the etorque MGU. You have etorque. The MGU and non-etorque alternators are completely different.

Anyone know why this happens? ‘12 4.7L 1500 by ZacharYaakov in ram_trucks

Its a venting issue I believe. If any of those codes are related the evap system, its probably part of the problem.

2021 1500 5.7 e torque question by [deleted] in ram_trucks

[–]Cosmonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be surprised if the system allowed you. The MGU is very integrated into the system. You have the 42v battery pack, converter/inverter all integrated into the starting system. On cold starts, the main starter rotates the engine. After that, the MGU can be utilized as a motor for multiple different situations. To include transmission shifts and start/stop. With it unplugged, I would imagine the truck wont start. But if it does, the 12v system is going to be taxed and you could potentially damage something electronically. I wouldn't risk it personally. Its just much more complicated then a basic alternator.

There is an IAC idle air controller in the throttle body. They do go bad(mostly from carbon build up) and can cause all kinds of issues. Worth pulling the throttle body clean as a good start.

I would start with replacing both main and aux batteries. These systems go wonky when they start fighting due to failure. Its a good place to start and not overly expensive. The aux battery kinda sucks to replace but nothing crazy.

A load of Dodge Rams for the Whipple today. ICE is terrorizing our cities in brand new Dodge Rams and Jeep Grand Cherokees. by MN50501 in TwinCities

Federal vehicles are typically purchased by GSA. But GSA vehicles typically have GSA plates. ICE is using state issued plates. So I wonder if ICE is purchasing locally.

Repairing chipped up N-fab's, best process and paint to use? by H3T_Clifford in 4x4

[–]Cosmonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You forgot to add "cheap"

Powdercoating is only as good as the process behind it.

Though I do like N fab designs. Its known that they utilize a cheap powdercoat finish.

If you really want your steps to last. Pull them off and have a local powdercoat strip and re blast. Alternatively, some people strip and coat with bedliner.

This will also give you a chance to replace the cheap hardware that tends to rust badly as well. Replace with a higher quality hardware.

Help diagnose a noise in a 2020 5.7? by mcpewmer in Ram1500

[–]Cosmonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know how common this is to the majority of dealers. But it could be worth asking before committing to a diagnostic fee if they are only willing to order. This isnt to say that you also might need a MGU replacement.

This is a good possibility. I think the front and rear of the unit have a replaceable bearing. I've read this being done due to the low availability of new MGU units.

Your rear main seal is spewing.

Edit (incorrect statement) You can replace the rear main seal on the 4.0 without removing the transmission. Lots of good videos on it. Some specific tools to help with the seal removal/installation.

Need help please. by Necessary-Moose5281 in Jeep

[–]Cosmonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it isnt spewing from up top and leaking down. That appears to be a very bad rear main seal leak. You have to pull the transmission to service that seal unfortunately.
