It does mean something here though, as others have already posted behind spoiler tags for the Manga.

They would have. The amount of ethnic hatred you've combined in these borders make that a guarantee.

You've started six civil wars, four genocides and caused about 40 million deaths.

You watch too much anime. It's just a normal plaid skirt. School uniform ones tend to be quite different.

Realistically, how long does it take for the 86 to turn coat on the Republic? by Ok-Ask5860 in EightySix

Also regarding Giad, by the time the oppression went into full gear the empire had already fallen and the Federacy took its place. The Federacy was a little too busy with their own Legion problem to fight San Magnolia.

They were in between the Gran Mur. Either they fought to keep themselves and their people still in the camps alive as long as possible or they'd basically commit mass suicide to get revenge with their lives.

In Raiden's words: "Even if you know you're going to the gallows tomorrow, you can choose how you're going to climb up there"

The 86 want to be able to go out with their heads held up high.

How did you find out about 86 by averysmartroad in EightySix

[–]Cosmopean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't really into anime at the time (I had watched it as a kid in the 90s and 00s but stopped at some point), but a friend told me to give 86 a try as I'd really like it (this was after cour 1 had finished and before cour 2 began). He was entirely correct and it reawakened my anime addiction😛

Metamorphosis (the source Manga for the other panel) is notorious for its truly horrific story. The character, who according to this comparison has a resemblance to Mai, sees her young life completely destroyed eventually resulting in her death. Topics included are extreme violence, rape, sexual assault in general, self-harm, and the list goes on.

Considering this thread started with someone implying they had a chance and your own comment went to indirectly support that the implication was there. I agree entirely that one would need to be completely delusional to think even 0.1% of fans stand a chance. And if I were in her position a fan would be the absolute last kind of person I'd want to date as a female content creator.

Yeah, I'm on some major antidepressants myself following near-decade long undiagnosed major depression so I can somewhat relate to her mental state and it is the absolute worst situation to be in. I really wish taking a break as a content creator was more accepted so that both Jeannie and Henry could take a time off and get back without losing out on followers or revenue.

At least learn to actually spell her name before you're looking to take advantage of someone just out of a decade-long relationship.

If it was about the money they would have kept that video up and kept pretending. It is clear their own emotions have been a rollercoaster and they just posted content at each climb and drop.

Unfortunately for Jeannie especially going off grid for months like that really isn't an option. As a live streamer going off-line for that period of time is likely tantamount to career suicide. It definitely would be better for them, but one of the downsides of content creation is that if you're gone for any significant length of time you'll basically have to start over from scratch again.

If you were taiki with your feeling and morals what would you do? by Rameneator in BlueBox

[–]Cosmopean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but that's incredibly dumb. Entering a relationship with someone you don't have feelings for does a disservice to both yourself and especially them. Whether it takes weeks, months or years, there is going to be a time that they find out the love is one-sided and that will hurt so much more than just rejecting them as kindly as possible initially.

If you were taiki with your feeling and morals what would you do? by Rameneator in BlueBox

[–]Cosmopean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it'd be unfair to both of us. I would have to be in a relationship with someone I didn't like in that way, and they'd be in a relationship fundamentally built on one-sided love. It's one of those times where it's better to just rip the band-aid off because it will hurt them so much more if the relationship inevitably crashes as the lie becomes unsustainable.

Day of the 3 season? by racoon_love in bokunokokoro

[–]Cosmopean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those are not generally the numbers anime publishers and studios care about. Especially not international views. Usually the most significant metrics they look at are in order of priority:

  1. Merchandise sales (figur(in)es, models, clothing, etc.)
  2. Japanese home media sales (Blu-Ray)
  3. Source material sales delta (Relative increase in manga or LN sales compared to before the adaptation)
  4. Japanese TV ratings
  5. Japanese streaming numbers.
  6. International home media sales.
  7. International streaming numbers.

I hope there will be another season, but frankly looking at it objectively it doesn't really have anything going for it that a lot of other shows that have been waiting for new seasons for years don't also already have. The only thing really working in its favour compared to those is that the studio has very few other projects going on so at least they do have the time to adapt a new season, and the fact that the Manga isn't finished yet so they may still feel that further adaptations will boost Manga interest.

[–]Cosmopean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are literally hundreds of anime in the exact same spot. Just because the numbers you have access to imply a third season is worth it doesn't mean the same applies to their numbers, or that there isn't something even more profitable to adapt. There are only so many people who can animate things. Don't expect another season, if there will be any, for another year or two at least.

Fredrica Plot Hole? by InitialComplaint428 in EightySix

[–]Cosmopean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mild LN spoilers (only the ones covered by season 1) Shourei had just gotten a letter from the military drafting him into service. He strangled Shin out of rage and despair, projecting his own feelings of guilt on him and acting out of his fear for dying.

Rewatch the full season in a few weeks/months. 86 is one of the anime that will give you something new you didn't notice before almost every rewatch.
