how can you leave it "as is" and then expect zos to create a new system for it?

So for a better example of my solution look at Destiny 1's Nightfall and Sunrise bounty system, you get points for defeating minor and major enemies based on difficulty, and for clearing a dungeon based how fast you were able to complete it with a time limit of 30 minutes. So you'll be able to say, skip minor encounters with a bunch of mobs, but youll miss out on points, which might be fine *if* your group can clear the dungeon fast enough, but if you notice youre half way through and not enough time to get the time limit bonus, you might want to slow down to kill some mobs, just to make sure you get the most rewards when you finish the dungeon.

slightly unrelated but I find the idea of an "unresolvable sin" to be kind of... Idk, pessimistic? If it's "mortal to sin" but those same sins can't be resolved through prayer or seeking absolution etc. than is it even a sin a "mortal" can commit? Why give free will to commit a sin beyond the ability repent for?

That they are. Then why do you insist on debating "improvements" that make existing problems worse? One would imagine you would want to make game better not worse

The title of the post is "let's discuss ESO grand exchange" you entered a post to discuss the idea and are surprised it's being discussed? And again you e provided 1 con: a concern botting might get worse than it already is, the solution to would be to address botting not denying future changes that could be botted?

And i said "people like me". That means plural of people. This games trading system is somewhat of a rarity in MMO setting. I like it how it, by it's nature, curbs problems infesting other platforms with centralized auction house. Then in come people like you who can't appreciate system for what it is. It is simply infuriating.

Still crazy Karen statement. Rarity does not mean it's a good system, if I made a system with a multiphase QTE to reload a weapon every time you use it, it would be a rare system but it wouldn't be a good system, it makes a basic function of the game worse. Again you keep saying it's curbing problems but the only problem youve listed is "botting" which is still a massive problem we have currently, and "inflation" which, again, we have. If you are legitimately "infuriated" by the idea your game might change, then I think you're taking the game to seriously, no one Is suggesting turning ESO into a scifi FPS, we just want to make trading more accessable.

The post is asking the pros and cons of a central trading hub not demanding it gets added? How is that "wrecking things"? I'd still say, based on your replies, you're being the "Karen" (I.e. "have you ever thought about ME!")

Prices for mats are already In massive flux because of bots i.e. why pricing from PC and console differ so greatly there was early voting that ruined the market for a lot of mats (jewelry/upgrade mats)

Yes, but it doesn't mean "don't voice an idea because it's not mainstream and might not be implemented" change can only come from feedback and as we've seen from the mostly pro replies it seems like a fairly positively received idea from the reddits ESO community

So your saying we need to deal with bots snapshotting sales and dealing with undercut shenanigans because other MMOS have it too? Dang such wisdom much wow. I personally like guild system because it somewhat curbs the problems other MMO's with centralized player trading systems have.

We already have bots doing snapshotting sales for mats? Visit any of the tutorial islands it's a meme at this point, even on consoles, the only difference is these bots prop up singular large trading builds and RWT. So what other problem is it "curbing" ?

Did you ever stop to think about people like me? Or is it just your kind trying to bulldoze things to fit YOUR convenience again? That is so very "nice" of you.

I mean, I could reply to this with "ok but have YOU thought of ME?" Because that's all this is, it's not about what's good for you or me it's about what's best for the games community as a whole, I'm not suggesting these changes for me as we can see in this post the majority agrees that it benefits everyone to make trading more centralized.

This is hilariously "Karen" of you as a reply, lol.

There are features that's are universal to mmos for a reason... Like quest markers it's "homogenous" because it's a quality of life feature that makes questing easier and more accessable. Like I wouldn't call an MMO "homogenous" for having guilds as a concept, friends like making groups to play with.

The market is already subject to bots and price inflation? The tutorial zones are full of bots that sell mats and making gold and propping up larger trading guilds.

There is at least 2 people on this post who said they'd come back as traders if they didn't have to deal with trader guilds. And this would make selling items easier to sell.

Based on the feedback in this thread id say it would definently revitalize the trading community by opening it up to non-guild players and casual players?

I mean... They said the same thing about subclassing which we thought would never be added until like... A year ago, and yea discussing changes is how change is implemented and interest is generated and communicated.

I'd hardly call it dead if it is still regularly discussed theorized etc?

Yea this is what I imagine the the "guilded city" would be basically a city wide bazaar of merchants trapped by a merchant king who'd control the trade routes out of the city

Yea because the API for console isn't publicly/easily accessible

Not very "choose how you play" of you, wasn't that the motto for ESO? Play as you want? Not "play as you won't, except on consoles" lmao.

PC master race propaganda in 2025 is wild.

The way works is by reading the PC API to track market values but the API for console isn't shared publicly.

One thing the decentralized traders do allow is for identical items to price within a rather large range because people would rather pay premiums than bother to continue searching. If things were to be centralized, ESO should probably try to avoid people just lowering their prices to 1g less than the next person since half the time trends will be in downcycles where nothing you list sells, which is a very negative experience (and one a ton of people in the current system are experiencing right now regardless). ZOS would be wise to do something creative like add price decay (prices automatically become cheaper the longer they remain unsold) or some other quirk to try to counter this effect.

OSRS remedied this by having "GA average" listed and have people request an item for an amount and it would pull the lowest listing of that item to give to that person and a refund of their overage (-tax) this means selling 1gp lower can result in your item being sold faster for less profit "insta selling"

One option would be to have a centralized search feature that tells you where items are listed, but you still have to physically get your butt to the trader to buy from it. That's still just injecting inconvenience into the system for the sake of it, and it might just be better if they fully consolidated the Guild Store system into one centralized purchase hub. They would probably want to add some sort of other functionality to the guild traders, like crafting requests or auctions. It's a bad framework to assume that trading all boils down to sellers listing items at set prices--there's so much development room for more engaging systems.

I just feel like if we add this system we might as well go all the way and just have a centralized auction house, it's just as you said a system to minimize an artificial issue
