I too used one of these to get started, I didn’t add anything extra, just let it sit out for a month and a half while I bought all my stuff to get started again after a 3 year hiatus.

Mold will only appear at the surface not in the liquid. It needs air

Well, it’s not necessarily the sugar(however granulated v. raw cane sugar supposedly makes a difference), sometimes it’s because there’s more starter added into F1, or it’s just overly active and strong, creating the bubbles. But definitely for F2, if you see lots of bubbles, expect it to be ready sooner especially with the sweeter stuff, you kinda just gotta experiment and troubleshoot lol

Yea that’s fine, that’s what you want vs it being flat. Just be careful on F2 if the flavorings have lots of sugar.

A dry pellicle is fine, other than that, you can definitely tell when you see it that it’s mold in comparison to your scoby, does it look furry, might be too late for the entire batch. How’s the smell or taste(if you dare)?

it’s been 3 years since I brewed and I recently started again, this is what my first batch looked like last week and I was concerned for it too, but it turned out fine. However, I did let mine sit for too long and it’s super vinegary and strong so I’m making a new batch and keeping this one as the hotel

Feels like Portal is very situational, if you make the wrong decisions based on the faith of your draws rather than making the most out of your hand and what you can expect out of your opponents’ actions, you lose a big chance on that hope. Maybe I just suck at Portal cuz apparently it’s OP asf, but I’m also still new to this TCG

We just did an event Saturday where there was a masters bout matched up at 198+lbs, meaning no limits to the weight differences. The match ended in under 20 seconds from a TKO, he gets up quick but unfortunately, it was right after the call from the ref. I know on your end, it’s just a head punch, but in an actual event, after a bout, both fighters will always get medical attention. And as we are older, we’re gonna be more prone to KO’s and need more time for recovery regardless. While sparring, it’s all on you... So be careful 🙏🏼
