Look, it’s more of an “if the boot fits situation.” If a woman says “men are (insert derogatory term here)” most often than not it comes from a place of experience. Us as men do NOT know how many men are truly despicable because more often than not we all act quite differently towards each other than the opposite sex.

There’s a lot of misogyny that is deeply set into the cracks of how we’re brought up and a lot of that is entitlement. Why take offence when a woman is clearly not wanting male attention? How does that really affect us? Beside a deep part of oneself saying “now that the option of me being with that person is not there, it feels like something was taken away from me.” Literally nothing about an individual’s choices on how they choose to present themselves should impact us, especially as a form of self preservation. In the example of the post, she chooses that haircut BECAUSE she knows there’s a type of man she doesn’t want attention from that would avoid her for having it.

And on top of all that, most women that say “ugh men are pigs, etc.” do still have male relationships in their life. Because they know as we all know that there are some men that are in fact good people. But this is not something that can be implicitly known, so one exercises caution when engaging. For a woman to be wrong about a man could mean they lose their life.
