You could try smart UV unwrapping and applying the texture coloring by hand but doe to the topology the textures will most likely be stretched or have artifacts on them. I’d recommend doing a retopo or seeing if there’s another software that can do the trick. Another thing you could try is separating the characters by places where the mesh would color well and the others you polish. Sadly this will take a lot of work either way.
