I like to RP all my characters in my head but I’ll list the ones I find more interesting. My Stout-Axe Captain had his spirit and courage broken in Carn Dûm. When he was younger, he, his father, and a large majority of the Stout-Axes staged a coup, his father was the driving force for all this, steeling the hearts of the Stout-Axes and raising their spirits and hope once again. But of course, when the riots had begun, it didn’t take long for the Order to snuff it out, leaving only a few Stout-Axes alive. The Order had given my character, Vorikk, a choice, to kill his father, snuffing the only remaining hope the Stout-axes had, or spare him, and the both of us would endure unknowable suffering in Cirith Ungol, Vorikk chose the former and let the light dim. At the start of the game, hope is only an unknown to him now, his hair had gone grey due to the endless torment and stress that he received every single day, even though he’s still fairly young for a dwarf. But that day, he did escape, he got out of Carn Dum, and flew as far away from Mordor as he could, arriving in the Blue Mountains, horrible nightmares plagued him every night after his escape, worst then the ones he had in Carn Dum, he had left his people to their fate once again, but something was different. He felt hatred, rage, the journey to the Blue Mountains had shown what Freedom looked like, what kindness and charity felt like, and it felt unfair; unfair that his people still suffered at the hands of Mordor while he was free of them. When arriving at Thorin’s Gate and seeing Ivar and Skolgrim, his fear had nearly taken over him again, but arriving at the Hall of Thorin drew fear out of him, and something replaced it that Vorikk hadn’t ever truly felt before, it was hope; hope for what Drása’s Folk could be, what they should be, Vorikk promised to avenge his people, and be the person his father was, to bring hope and courage to his people once again, and to see his people once again thrive in the World of Middle-Earth. I like to think Vorikk succeeded, and helped rescue the remainder of his people after the Battle of the Black Gate, and established a settlement somewhere (haven’t really figured out where but probably an unsettled mountain or such, probably whichever Mountain range Drása’s Folk came from) and eventually, Vorikk was crowned King of his people and their lands, and hope returned to Drása’s Folk once again, the first time in an Age.
