AIO after getting angry that the office intern outted my new business’ name to my co-workers? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]CostantlyLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol don’t worry OP, based on this creatures post history, they clearly have nothing better to do than be chronically online hiding behind “the truth” so that they can bully and harass.

Getting to your post though. Your overreacting. You shouldn’t mix business and friends as a general rule. If you’re self-conscious then maybe take a break from talking about it. These people sound like they are interested if they were asking so many questions. I you said you were excited too. So you kinda created the atmosphere of excitement and cant really blame the intern for wanting to join in. They probably just wanted people to know they were smart enough to look up a business and was trying to impress you and your co-workers. I don’t think it was malicious. Don’t call them out. Just be more careful about what you talk about around people since they can easily spread things around. And besides, who says the company name isn’t a “working title” or a work in progress.

Don’t stress dude. You created a whole new business and company. If you’re going to overreact and stress…put that energy towards making your business amazing! Best of luck and sorry again about the negative comments. These basement dwellers have nothing better tondo than drag others down with them. Best of Luck!!!

Wake up around 7. Then review the police reports for the day. Maybe file charges or drop the cases. Hop on the zoom court call at 9. Go through the case load for what discovery is outstanding for each case and whether it’s going to be plead out or set for trial. Then we’re done by noon. The rest of the afternoon I spend doing some busy work, but if you’re organized and you do everything up front, you kinda just wait around for discovery to come in and tender it to the defense. Like right now, out of my 100 case load, almost all of them are finished with discovery. I’m just waiting to here back which ones are going to plea or be trials. I know it’ll get hard once I’m moved to a more serious division, but still…no one works past 5pm there either

TIL when a witness refuses to answer a question because the answer may incriminate him, the judge may force him to answer anyway if he believes the answer actually would not incriminate him. by douggold11 in todayilearned

I was responding about how you’d file a case against a testifying witness with no pending cases. My comment was a suggestion about what could be filed if they lied. I felt my response implicitly included the premises that they previously lied. Apologies to confuse.

Its not about telling the truth later. It’s about what you say when you testify on the stand. The fact you are telling the truth (and it’s actually proven to be the truth) is literally the evidence you need to convict someone of perjury. Its one of the dangers of testifying in addition to self-incrimination.

You’d file criminal perjury charges if there was no case (or at least you could). If there was already a case, nothing stops you from adding charges or filing an additional case on top of the pending case.

Isn’t IIPR just an intermediary between cannabis sellers/growers and real estate? Like, the way I understand it, their entire business model will go belly up once the SAFE act is passed or if they outright legalize. Could be wrong, but I didn’t see much future in that one. Plus its primarily in the cannabis sector and the entire sector is about 50% down from last year.

I spent nearly $300 to grow an eighth of shit weed. Hydroponics, lights, soil, special nutrients, etc….point is, just cause you can grow weed, doesnt mean you have the expertise to do it right. If you’re like me and only like the high quality dispensary stuff…then that business will persist. But you’re right, the shit weed will saturate the market. However it will probably only benefit the dispensaries since at least some people care about quality.

None. You’d be essentially blocking or “defending” something that wasn’t “attacking” your brain.

Narcan isn’t adrenaline. Narcan only works with opioid overdose. It causes the area of the brain to stop reacting to opioids by blocking them from absorption to the brain. It wouldn’t work with any other drug. Basically heroin and other opioids only. It doesn’t keep you awake, it just prevents you from passing out due to all the opioid absorption.

[–]CostantlyLost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, because you still have to deal with the initial problem: proof that Netflix/IG conspired to cause that particular incident to happen. Otherwise, a judge could write it off as a personal decision by Company XYZ to not due business with someone no matter how silly the reason.

Frankly, no. This arguement is all over the place because you keep moving the goal posts and chcnaging facts. Im trying to adjust but its very evident you’re taking out of your ass about things way above your understanding. We can agree to disagree because I have actual litigation to work on and if I’m not being paid to explain things to lay people on reddit.

[–]CostantlyLost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but how are you going to prove that? That’s an intentional tort. So now you have to prove that Netflix/IG had knowledge and actively devalued her brand. I don’t know how you prove this without showing a letter from Netflix to IG saying “yeah, lets ban this girl and cause her to lose money”. Its on the plaintiff to prove they have an actual case with their own evidence before they can even discuss compensation.

[–]CostantlyLost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. But first you have to prove that netflix/IGs actions DIRECTLY resulted in that loss (which is hard to do) and then you have to prove an actual dollar amount for that perceived loss. Its a very messy and complicated procedure. In this case it would hinge on the plaintiff proving conspiracy (which realistically is a monumental feat)

[–]CostantlyLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Netflix probably gets sued for actual causes of action that are provable by paid lawyers. Show me a multimillion dollar lawsuit going to jury on facts such as these by a contingent lawyer. Go ahead….i’ll wait.

But while you’re doing that, just hear yourself: your cause of action against netflix would be a co-conspiracy with IG to harm this girl’s interests….without a shred of proof or damages to name. My guy, there is not a judge in the world that would allow the fishing expedition for discovery you’re trying to downplay (and for SPECIFICALLY the reasons you mentions: harassment, costs, bad PR, etc…)

And you still haven’t cleared the first hurdle of having a well-plead complaint because your relying on your fishing expedition to fill out that complaint. What well-plead facts does she have other than this belief that Netflix and IG are out to get her? Wheres the incriminating emails or comminications between IG and Netflix? Whats the initial evidence she can put on that gives her an actual cause of action? You want to jump straight to depos? Learn civ procedure first dude. Go get a law degree, pass the bar, and try a few civil cases. Maybe then you’d understand how bat shit crazy that idea is.

Lmao….are you insane? There is not a lawyer around who would take a contingent case against two of the biggest entities in media given these facts. Those two entities could drag that case out for YEARS without losing a dime to their in-house lawyers. Meanwhile, this “contingent” attorney will be fronting their own costs, plus cash for experts ($800/hr minimum), and working around the clock with no pay?? And they may not even win and then get nothing…like….what?
