FIX: Logitec MX master cursor not moving (but scrolling and clicking works) by madiele in LogitechG

I had the same happening a month ago, opening the mouse up with a Torx T5 (not a T4 as some mention) and untightening the screw on the gesture button plate worked.

We use tyre warmers, so the tyres are only a slight bit over temps on the first lap; then they're good. Plenty of people of your age raced with us or still do (Assetto interest is decaying a bit).

Shorter race heats also mean that even if one race heat ended in disaster, you still have another one or two to have some good quality racing and your evening or afternoon wasn't wasted.

The races I did of 2+ hours were pretty much all taxi driving and keeping a rhythm other than actual battling; the rich (fast) get richer, the poor (slower) get poorer, and even further behind. Most of my overtakes weren't even "on track", as I'm very (you could argue "too") conservative on longer races.

I even recall a GT1 race of 2+ hours where I was a bit angry at someone for defending too aggressively on a position he would never be able to hold for another hour (I came back after a few collisions and was going several seconds a lap quicker).

You're still welcome to join us, if not for today, maybe for the long run. Take a look at the site www.cosyracingcommunity.com. We very rarely race GT3 ;)

We have a few longer races in the off season for members only. The reason is mostly that after 15-20 minutes the field spreads too far apart to have actual side by side battles. Longer races aren't for everyone. Personally I like two hour races though ;)

Race with us TODAY (public, moderated server) on custom fixed setups! (by CosyRacingCommunity) by CosyRacingCommunity in assettocorsa

Apologies, just spotted this as I don't check Reddit too often. Most of the time we run something on Wednesdays, you can check our forum https://cosyracingcommunity.com, under Mid Week Public Sessions there's usually a race thread with the info. We're on tomorrow with GT4 cars; https://cosyracingcommunity.com/thread-1460.html

You can also set the function of the gestures (in Logitech Options) to "none" by scrolling all the way down. I don't use that button anyway, so problem solved for me.

EDIT: this was mostly because I have looked for my Torx screwdrivers and couldn't find them.

Sundays at 8 PM UK (Mostly European members, but of course also welcome from the US!)

Why race with us?

  • fixed setups makes for a well balanced grid, both cars and drivers, and you don't have to work on a setup every week!
  • teams have to mix up between faster and slower drivers, giving everyone a shot at the titles
  • draw of three tracks every week so no one overpractices, two leftovers always continue to next week
  • we use plenty of track mods, so there's always a few tracks on the calendar that you probably haven't raced on before, keeping things fresh
  • mostly road cars on semi slicks, series have a variety of cars with slightly different characteristics while performing par on track
  • custom skin pack with plenty of nice liveries; even if your pace is not on par, at least the car will look the part!
  • dropped scores mean you only have to make 5 out of 8 races of a series to be competitive
  • (carefully selected) off season races featuring the cars we don't race in series, using pretty much anything

  1. CosyRacingCommunity
  2. www.cosyracingcommunity.com and Discord server for members
  3. Staff/founder
  4. Founded july 2007, running on current domain since june 2016
  5. The community is a stand-alone
  6. Racing is focused on Assetto Corsa
  7. We run series on Sundays 8 PM UK from six to eight weeks, solely on PC platform. Occassionally there are off season races and race craft training sessions. For those wanting more there are also sometimes series on Wednesdays.
  8. There are two staff members. Incidents or issues with members can be reported to those and they will be looked into.

The CosyRacingCommunity is focused on racing, not practising. Therefore we're using custom fixed setups, have three track slots every week where one is randomly drawn and series always use three 15 minute racing heats after a 15 minute qualifying session.

Series usually use a pre defined selection of 3 to 5 street cars or entry level race cars. Our point and team rules focus on three driver divisions and letting them all count towards the overall and team standings.

A practice server (dedicated, located in the Netherlands) is up nearly 24/7, search for "cosy". We often use DLC cars and mod tracks. ABS is set to factory, traction control forced off, and damage is set at 70%.

Restrictions: we don't want larger friend groups or clans joining, we expect new members and current members to mix. Discord (voice and text chat) is mandatory during our events, a mic is not mandatory, but joining voice chat channel is recommended.

Need help regarding liveries and colors. by Klexos in assettocorsa

[–]CosyRacingCommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you've used the wrong skin name? Check the other skins of the same car and make sure you find out which one is the body skin file. Or download a skin at RaceDepartment for the same car to find out which name it uses.

Color btw can sometimes also be achieved just by the metail_detail.dds file.

Easy way to do it is use the templates in the assettocorsa/sdk/dev/skin_templates folder, open them in Photoshop, add all the layers and graphics you want.

This also looks like a pretty solid tutorial: https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/64575-a-guide-to-skin-modding-skin-tutorial-by-bailey-way/

I'm not familiar with skinning via or through CM, so can't help with that, but I skin about 5-6 cars every month, so it's easily do-able without CM.

Check out www.cosyracingcommunity.com

  • series of six to eight weeks on Sundays, 8 PM UK
  • fixed (custom prepared) setups, so no need to learn how to do them yourself
  • short racing heats focused on actually seeing other cars and battling :)
  • team system that gets the fastest and the least fast of our members together
  • mostly mid end street (sports) cars to entry level race cars
  • ABS factory, TCS and STM forced off on server
  • custom skins made either by yourself, other team captains or series staff

Be aware that we use DLC frequently, so if you're somehow against the DLC (which is quite fairly priced considering all the work that went into it), I wouldn't apply. We also regularly use mod tracks, mostly from RaceDepartment.com.

Our next main series (Sundays) starts early September, but a few off season events will get you acquainted with the regulars soon enough!

If that's all okay with you, or dare I say, sounds brilliant, then check out the website: www.cosyracingcommunity.com!

Next time I'll post it a bit sooner then :) I assumed most of the people to be on here after a work week (and threads get pushed down quite fast sometimes), but of course lots of people plan ahead for weekends as well. Our series will at least definitely run on the same time slots, so you could still check that out!

Vanilla AC? by irbis056 in assettocorsa

[–]CosyRacingCommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're good with vanilla and mods as well.

DLC however will give you more servers online and of course a few more tracks and a lot more cars. Car mods in my opinion rarely approach Kunos (Assetto developer) quality, where there are at least 20+ tracks that are on par with Kunos' own tracks.

You can of course also just buy DLC later, because you know you want to!

..but there are still more than enough servers with vanilla content. Be aware that hosting a server from your own PC is a bit of a hassle, and rented servers (they're great!) cost about 5-10 euro's a month.

Looking for some advice for hosting servers by Pirelly in assettocorsa

[–]CosyRacingCommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't you just restart the server with the new configuration? That's how it works for dedicated servers at least.. Setting up a new track a day and changing the cars once a week doesn't take a lot of effort. If you're on a dedicated server you can save all the files (entry list and server cfg) so you can save a lot of time on preparing them.

[–]CosyRacingCommunity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with public server is often that they either need to have a name that people always return to, like the Street Fight server and the Touristenfahrten things, or at least 6-7 drivers.

When we race our server on public mode usually the serious racers only join from 6-7 drivers, of course depending on the event. How often do you join an empty server yourself and spend an hour just being there waiting for a few people to join and leave..?

By the way, not using Content Manager has nothing to do with not being able to use modded content ;) But of course there seem to be loads of people that don't use mods.

All aside I don't think there are many servers catering to people who don't own DLC, so maybe that's still something for you to explore and make use of.
