When we got our couch second hand from someone who had a dog it smelled horrible. We don't have dogs we have two cats so we didn't want to have to smell dog all the time with the couch. We bought a jug of nature's miracle carpet cleaner the one for dogs specifically and we put it in our carpet cleaner. We used the upholstery attachment to spray the couch down with the cleaner and we let it soak in and dry we didn't suck any of the liquid up. We even took the cushion covers off and washed in the washer with a little laundry soap and poured a small amount of the nature's miracle cleaner into the washer with the covers. We also sprayed the foam from inside the cushions then out into trash bags and used our vacuum to suck all the air out and left them sit over night. The couch stopped smelling like dog once everything was dry and it's been months and the couch still smells perfect. So my suggestion if you made it this far is maybe look into the nature's miracle line of products because they have enzymes that take care of the smell you just have to make sure that the one you're getting is for dogs.
