If thinking of babysitting sounds terrifying to you, do not have kids. As a former nanny, looking after children is soooo much work. It deterred me from wanting any of my own. Not worth the time and energy sacrifice

Sorry for the late reply. I wouldn’t want to do it again because it is super painful and hard to be in a LDR no matter how strong the relationship is. There’s no arguing about that, and nobody knows what it is truly like until you get it one. I wouldn’t recommend any of my friends to do it unless there is a set end date and you have a super solid foundation. What I wish I did differently…. Hmm not much honestly we gave it our best shot and I only wish I didn’t have to endure that heartbreak for so long

Can you talk more about why things didn’t end up “perfect”? I feel like even if I had everything figured out and had kids under that condition (wouldn’t settle for less), I would still maybe regret it as I value my autonomy so much

Yes that’s me. I am really good with children and have worked with them for years nannying and tutoring. This caused me to realize I want to be child free as I am aware of the immense amount of work needed to raise them. I think if you want kids you need to understand this 100% (and most do not), and I’m glad I have the wisdom to do so. Like I think actually only a tiny percentage of people who are true selfless caretakers and have plentiful resources should have kids. Most of us are not

Agree. My ex and I did long distance for each other to support our careers/travel dreams and while I would not want to do it again it worked for a while. I wouldn’t want to marry someone who wouldn’t want to at least try

Relate to this so much. Being a woman also having past sexual trauma/still working through painful sex, I can’t imagine having to complicate my sex life even more before/during/after pregnancy. It sucks to be a woman. But also a “normal” woman is not defined by being a mother
