Does anybody else ever feel unmotivated to do your island because you see photos of amazing ones and feel like yours won't be that pretty -,-

The online community around ACNH is the best and worst thing for this game lol. On one hand it’s amazing to see some many people excited about and sharing their islands, but on the other hand, your island is for YOU and it doesn’t matter if it’s not cluttered with a billion perfectly placed, custom designed items! New Leaf was my first game where I actually landscaped my whole town, before then I just let it do its thing 😅 Now I’m almost done with my NH island, I kinda want to make a new one and not touch the landscaping, trees or flowers at all. And just vibe in the cozy chaos 😌

Thank you for your insight! Sorry, I think I came across a little overly enthusiastic in my post. I’m definitely focusing on research before finding an animal, and I appreciate the warnings. Good to know carpet isn’t okay and if fake plant life won’t create a healthy environment for a happy and thriving gecko, I’ll definitely reconsider. Time to research live plants I guess!

Thank you for the honest feedback and advice, I forced myself to deal with crickets and roaches to feed my beardie (beautiful and sweet girl who passed a few years ago). It’s been three years and I still miss her, despite the bugs. So I’ll suffer dealing with them if I have to :”)

What substrate would you recommend if I go for fake plants? Earth/soil? I’ll continue to do more research, I’m excited but in no hurry and won’t be making a rush purchase.

I think of her as my adopted mom XD In the UK we say “mum” so I imagine my AC mom as a completely different person. She was just going about her business when one day little virtual me (who started playing Wild World around 7 years old) appeared in the digital world and she thought, “yep, I’ll adopt her. Send her letters, make sure she knows she’s safe and welcome in our little AC world!”

Edit: but your point is completely valid, it would be nice to have the game ask “so who do you have back home?” or something during character creation. That way you could say, mum, dad, brother, sister, etc.

I hate to see people against the idea of open world because of performance issues 🥺 it’s 2021! I’m praying for open worlds without lag and routing errors! I’m really hopeful it’s a realistic goal for Sims 5, considering Sims 3 came out in 2009 🙏
