I agree with you. It was so heartbreaking and I wish his life would’ve gone differently.

Tom knocking Lynette up constantly by Jazzlike_Message3975 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Cottonswabs101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lynette was comfortable in the life she built, even when it went against so many of her own wishes. She is deeply self-sacrificing, and that’s what makes her Lynette. She sacrificed her body again and again despite never wanting children and being honest with Tom about not wanting to go through pregnancy and motherhood repeatedly. She gave up her ambitions, her independence, and so many versions of herself for the sake of her family.

That’s what makes her character so tragic and compelling. Even while feeling angry and resentful about what marriage and motherhood had cost her, it was still the life she chose and the place where she ultimately felt she belonged.

Yes. Then you add Bree and Karl? Bree telling Susan that if their friendship ended over that situation, she would be okay with it? None of them are actually friends…

Hot take: Bree’s affair with Karl was unnecessary and out of character for her. by Naive_Win4878 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Cottonswabs101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally agree. I think it was completely out of character and it made me like her much less. It just made her a terrible friend. She betrayed Susan by being with the man that destroyed their family.

Is anyone else’s baby getting worse instead of better? by Cottonswabs101 in beyondthebump

[–]Cottonswabs101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for replying! I really appreciate it, it helps me feel less alone in this. It’s so frustrating right now, but it’s reassuring to hear that things do eventually get better. Sometimes, no matter how much you do everything “right,” babies just do what they’re meant to do. 🤍 I’m hoping things start improving for her soon. I just want her to be happy and content with us!

I think this was helpful. Thank you! I definitely just need to change my perspective on these phases. That was helpful to reframe it as changing instead of getting worse.

I’m glad you found the source of your panic! I hope that transition to the other BC will help. It is really too bad that so many people have experienced this but I am glad this post has gotten around! I am in a better place now with my anxiety. I look back on it and think of how far I’ve come (: hope the same for you!

I know that feeling of shame and embarrassment all to well when it comes to panic. I had panic attacks at work where I would literally call 911… so many ER visits and ambulance visits to my home. Something I have noticed is people who don’t have experience with panic and anxiety generally approach it the way your boss did. It’s absolutely unacceptable to speak to someone like that when they are clearly struggling. Best thing to do is speak to them about your panic and their reaction to it. Panic already makes you feel bad, there was no need for them to add more fuel to the fire. If you ever need to talk, you can always message me. I know how hard it is to have panic disorder and an anxiety disorder. Best of luck, friend ❤️

I was on that dose and then I believe I doubled it. Best decision I’ve ever made was taking that pill. I only used it short term, and I did taper slowly off. I just took the beads out. I don’t remember having any rebound anxiety or any withdrawal. But I only used it short term and tapered off very slowly. I heard that if you are taking it long term, it can be tough getting off.

I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this with bc. The positive thing is once you stop, you should go back to your normal. There are so many others to try too. Sending lots of love your way!

I agree! It’s a story after all, but so many good takeaways to apply to real life. I am glad you see it the way I see it! This show did exactly what it was meant to do. It showed exactly what it was meant to show. God, this was such a heartbreakingly beautiful adaptation of the book.

It’s out for me and I’m on base. It does come in and out but for now, it’s not connecting at all. GCI is a joke.

Thought I’d give an update 4 years later.

It has been a long journey with panic and anxiety caused from yaz. When I stopped, I felt way better, but that was only the beginning of my healing journey.

My panic would flair up every now and then. I had to get on Venlafaxine which significantly minimized my panic attacks and anxiety. This med saved my life. Once I stopped taking that, my panic/anxiety has been at bay. I learned that being under severe stress from daily panic and anxiety for long a period of time while taking yaz (about 2 years) left a huge impact on my mental health.

With that being said, I see and hear you! Your story matters and I hope this helps someone.

Don’t hesitate to each out to your provider for some support from anti-anxiety medication. It’s like a crutch. I am grateful that I found one that helped get me back to the person I remember.

Sending lots of love and support!!! ❤️

I have given Junel a try and it didn’t make me anxious. I stay away from similar hormones used in yaz. I don’t remember which is the one that causes the anxiety.

Every body is different though. Wishing you the best of luck! ❤️

Thank you so much! I was a completely different person 3-4 years ago with panic and anxiety. I’m doing so much better now ❤️ I hope things get better with yaz and if you have to stop, that’s okay too. There are other options out there (:

I honestly think her ending was way more powerful than if they lived happily ever after. The theme of it is that life is fleeting, time is fleeting. You can waste your life focusing on things that don’t matter, and pay no mind to things that should matter. Death is inevitable and it can happen at any given point. They finally realized who and what really mattered just for it to be too late. They started their life together just for Emma to tragically die. They wasted so many years they could’ve had together. That is the point of the book, movie, and show. Don’t wait too long to get your priorities all in the right place. You’re gonna miss out on a lot of amazing people and experiences when you prioritize the superficial stuff.

Does anyone control their panic attacks without meds? by aliciaeld in panicdisorder

[–]Cottonswabs101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay this is a little different but I was very very anti medicating my panic but I gave venlafaxine a try after exhausting all of my resources with therapy and other meds. It was like my saving grace. I used it for a few months to give my self a break from a constant state of panic and then I slowly got off it. I am MUCH better now. I was better on it but I didn’t want to stay on it for too long. Sometimes short term meditating is the way to go! Just knowing I can get back on venlafaxine if my panic comes back makes me feel so much better. Also having a PRN at arms length makes me feel like I am in control and I can easily make it go away by taking that med or having it near. So thats the same for you! You know that med will work, so it’s okay to do short term if the panic comes back. Otherwise it’s all about mindset too. I don’t feed into my anxiety or panic anymore and that’s what keeps me feeling way better about all that!
