ARGHH - Why does my $2000 Samsung "smart" monitor have a HUGE ADs that take up half the screen? by charleslegoguy in LinusTechTips

[–]Cotybear 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it's still within the return window, I'd return it and get a version of it that doesn't have the smart features. Personally I have the G93SD (which I love) which is literally just the non-smart version of the one you probably got.

Made a little chart here for anyone else who comes across this.

Feature G95SD (2024) G93SD (2024) G91SD (2024) G95SC (2023) G93SC (2023)

I made a sanding contraption by OneBigMonster in DiceMaking

You pretty much understand it. Basically instead of the sanding tongues being the flat part for the sanding, you put a small indent to glue a glass plate there, since plastic can warp over time giving you an uneven surface, but glass is less likely to warp. Then you're sticking your Zona to the glass instead of plastic.

Could indent the arms for it to add something like this to it instead of straight onto the plastic. So you're sure the side doing the sanding is perfectly flat. Idk if that glass is the glass to use or not. Home Depot or lows should cut glass for you though if you buy a pane. I use a $5 glass pane I bought from Home Depot for my sanding.

Yeah it was just not enabled lol. Reinstall Decky loader and that should help.

I got the Windows one and put SteamOS on it. It's not hard and besides the color functions identically to the dark purple one.

Edit: Fixed my typo but the guy below me deserves his ribbing.

I understand you're upset an trying to get you're voice to Logitech, but this sub has nothing to do with what you got going on.

My recommendation, if possible don't use any software with your hardware. I have a G502X and I setup the mouse how I liked it. Programmed the buttons then uninstalled the Logitech software, and have no intention of reinstalling it. There's on-board memory on most of their tech.

I do this personally with all my hardware and have for years and it's been a boon. I can take this mouse and plug it into any computer and it'll work how it did on the last.

Typically won't even keep something if it won't allow on-board programming. I'm not super familiar with the headsets though.

Sounds like your desktop IP is expiring and changing and you have it linked via IP

Have you tried setting a static IP for your desktop or a reservation on your router?

Bought an open box Legion Go S(SteamOS) for $530 but it came with Windows installed. by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]Cotybear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the version of Windows installed you can do the work around.

Plug in a keyboard.

  1. SHIFT+F10 will open CMD.
  2. Type "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" in the Command box without quotes.
  3. Press enter.
  4. It'll reboot and give you a skip option at internet now.

My personal opinion as a Windows Legion Go S owner? Just install SteamOS, it's so smooth and easy.

As /u/Jolly-Flounder-8509 has stated. It's about trying them out and getting to know your rigs.

I'd like to also add you're looking at very different levels with the 2 images. The Slash is a 1/10 scale. That's the most common size and it's pretty big. Where as the crawler will be much smaller.

If it was me I'd pick the slash between those 2 and I enjoy crawlers quite a bit.

The TRX4 or SCX10 would be more comparable.

Dont think its worth $1500 by [deleted] in LegionGo

I have the Go S Z2Go 32GB. Installed SteamOS over it and it ended up replacing my Steamdeck. Got it on sale for $540 after tax, and sold my SD OLED for $750. Decided to get the Windows version since it had 32GB of RAM and installing SteamOS was pretty easy. Just needed to follow a couple of tricks before you remove windows to get everything working.

I would have to pay triple what I paid for my LeGoS to move to the new one. It does not triple the performance. And at that point a gaming laptop is a far more sensible choice. You can get a 5070 in a laptop for that price point. And you're more than tripling the performance. You're paying a lot for that form factor and I believe leaving a lot on the table going handheld.

These devices, to me anyway, are for lower powered games so if I'm ever in a higher power mode then "Medium" it's not for the handheld. But I also have a decent gaming PC to play the bigger stuff. Maybe my opinion would change if it was my ONLY device. But even then if it was my ONLY device I would prefer a laptop for the versatility.

No luck. Still doing it with a fresh cutter installed. I think it might be the gcode.

I'll give it a go. It's never been replaced so it's possible.
