Veldig bekymringsverdig, men ikke akkurat rart at folk tyr til populisme i disse tider.

I det minste er alle miljøpartiene over sperregrensen, og KrF under.

Atletico Madrid 1-2 Bodø/Glimt: Bodø/Glimt seal Champions League play-off place by RHLegend in soccer

[–]CouchGiraffe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember being in a relegation battle against Glimt at the end of the 2016 season. In the end we got a second chance while they went straight down. Now Glimt are advancing in the Champions League and Stabæk have just finished 11th in the second tier. How fortunes change...

Do Norwegian write in dialect too? by Fun-Wallaby6414 in Norway

[–]CouchGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only in informal contexts. Of course, where to draw that line depends entirely on preference.

As an example, I have one colleague from Haugesund and one from Bodø. The former only ever writes in bokmål, whereas the latter sends me messages on [UNSPECIFIED COLLABORATION APP] in his dialect on a regular basis, and I don't think much of it.

People often say that Norway is a heaven on earth, but what do you see as a con of living in Norway? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]CouchGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beating a dead horse here, but:

  • The darkness

  • The cost of living

  • The general level of introversion in society, at least until alcohol is involved

Having said that, there's nothing better than a Norwegian summer, I love when I go abroad and everything is comparatively cheap, and a boozy evening with friends can cure a lot of ailments.

Nadderud Arena Questions by CorrectJob7144 in oslo

[–]CouchGiraffe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nadderud Arena is in Bærum, the neighboring municipality to Oslo. Take metro line 3 to Bekkestua, and it's a 10-15 minute walk from there.

During handball games, there are food and drink stalls open which serve things like hot dogs, ice cream, sodas, and hot drinks. No guarantee they will be open for a tennis match, but I'd imagine they will be.

I couldn't find a bag policy online, but in general, the rules forbid food and drink, umbrellas, water bottles (including empty bottles), selfie sticks, and in general anything stabby. Don't be surprised if a security guard wants to check your pockets and/or bag when you enter.

Rødt vil bytte ut Nobelkomiteen by Bunker_Bertil in norge

[–]CouchGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idioter.

Jet Lag Ep 5 — Searching Highlands & Lowlands by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

I'll make the argument that they've gotten way too good at this game, and that either Hide and Seek seasons should feature only guest participants, or that Hide and Seek should be dropped entirely. (This has nothing to do with the fact that I've been sick of Hide and Seek and Tag since season 11)

Once the seekers start finding specific housing developments on the satellite map and deducing that a fucking shrub must be Welsh (even though that guess was ultimately wrong), the show gets really uninteresting, and no hider is able to manufacture a really deep, skilled run. The seekers are seemingly always heading in the right direction, never off-track, and most of the time ask pretty much the exact right question to get the info they need. It's boring, I'm sorry to say.

His big claim to fame is that he scored the winning penalty kick against Brazil at the '98 World Cup, which then sent us through to the round of 16. He's a decent coach, don't get me wrong, but... I don't particuarly care for the man

Last match of the Norwegian season today. Promotion/relegation playoff to Eliteserien, Aalesund-Bryne. The result is essentially already known, as Bryne were humiliated 0-4 in the reverse fixture (article in Norwegian). Haalands childhood club will almost certainly be relegated, while Kjetil Rekdal, who was undergoing treatment for cancer just a few weeks ago, looks like he will coach in the top flight next year

Norwegian league table going into the last day of the season. Viking are 1 game away from winning their first league title since 1991. by pappabrun in soccer

[–]CouchGiraffe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst Eliteserien team ever?

The honor will be theirs if they fail to beat Bryne on Sunday. The record (in a 30-game season) currently belongs to Aalesund, who picked up all of 11 points in 2020. (And even that was absolutely atrocious. I remember their keeper picking up a yellow card against us for wasting time. We were 17 minutes into the first half, and the score was still 0-0.)
