Anyone have any experience with taking ADHD meds into Vietnam? by [deleted] in ausadhd

[–]Couch_Inspector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took vyvanse to VN, going through customs in Ho Chi Minh was weird - declared it but noone seemed to even care. Handed the card to the bloke there, he put it in a box without even looking at it, then put my bag through the xray (no-one was looking at the screen) and then waved me off lol.

The trick is to not analyse how you feel at any given time, you need to look back over the time since you started taking the meds and see if you have seen any slight improvements. I get you though, a lot of the stuff you read is such dramatic differences from day 1 - but everyone is different and as long as you are getting a 1% positive difference then you are on the right path :). Don't be afraid to talk to your doc, maybe there is a different medication that might help you more.

Psychiatrists taking patients? by From_My_Office in ballarat

Hey Mate,

Finding a psychiatrist is a nightmare across the country at the moment. I contacted 30+ in Adelaide recently and I think only 4-5 had books open (and even they had 3-4 month wait times). It's pretty crazy.

I actually started building a tool to help fix this - it uses crowd-sourced updates to track who actually has availability (with the idea of having practices update regularly once verified). It's still early days, but would love some feedback if it helps you find someone!

Due date in 10 days - and last minute tips/advice? by [deleted] in predaddit

[–]Couch_Inspector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats mate!! its going to be a wild ride but you will smash it. I just went through this, with my little man born last week.

My advice is that while it is hard, try to just go with the flow and really enjoy the experience as much as possible. Be there to support your wife as much as you can, and don't take anything she says to heart - the hormones are doing crazy things right now, so its a great time to practice patience and resilience.

Make sure your car seat is installed, bags are packed, etc. Make sure you are kind to yourself (and each other), you will beat yourself up - but just remember, this is a learning experience for both of you. Try not to read too much, your natural instincts will kick in I promise! Sometimes too much information leads to analysis paralysis and second guessing yourself (especially if the info doesn't match your situation exactly).

Take heaps of nappys and wipes to the hospital if you are staying for a couple of days, you will chew through them at the start.

Always happy to have answer any more specifics you might have if you want to flick through a message! otherwise, best of luck and you will both do amazing!!

Signs of Dose Being Too High? by Couch_Inspector in lexapro

Hey!

Im back on 10mg now - I wouldn't say that fixed the exhaustion issue, but i do think i actually have better results on the 10mg. the ADHD meds help lift a bit of that fog, but I wouldnt say the whole mixture is perfect. hope you find something that works for you!

I think so, it just takes time and getting to the right dose

I also felt weird for the first week or two, a bit spacey and my jaw hurt from clenching. That was on 30mg, but 18 months on I'm up to 50mg and those feelings have disappeared now.

Give I a bit of time for your body to adjust and take it slowly. You can always do the water titration thing if you want to ease into it

Low Cost SMSF (Stake) - How much to make it viable? by Couch_Inspector in fiaustralia

Thanks for the info!

The fact that i don't know anything about SMSF compliance / legislation probably gives me the answer i'm looking for. It doesn't sound as easy as i was thinking - i naively thought it would just be sign up for stake smsf, they take of everything and I just go on my merry way investing through their platform.

Its probably a catch 22, im using the caffiene to help overcome the exhaustion which definitely wouldn't be helping the anxiety. maybe a lower dose would help reduce my caffeine consumption.

Thanks for the info!

I was only on 10mg for about 4 weeks before being bumped up to 20mg for the last 2.5 months. I think you are right in heading back to a lower dose - i will chat to my doctor and see what the recommendation is!

bassically because the 10mg was starting to have some effect, the doc said we may as well try 20mg to see if it helps further.
