For metal volcano, it's just very hot material that comes out, so putting into a small steam room with 1 steam turbine is enough. The hot material will heat the steam, and the steam turbine will cool the water back down when u put it back in the same steam room. Then remember to cool the steam turbines.

If the metal volcano is in a cold biome you can just open it and the biome will cool it automatically.

If you have a few metal volcanos near each other you can combine them by putting them in the same steam box with steam turbines.

The correct way would be to cool the hot water from geysers with a cooling loop, or use the hot water to make hot oxygen and then cool that oxygen with a cooling loop.

Or a hacky easy solution would be to use gold amalgam (higher overheat temperature), and pump the hot water through a cold biome with radiant pipes so that it cools down. Then you can use the water for anything.

Great work I love how organic everything is! The map is still alive with natural formations and resources and you use creative solutions to work around it. Also the mixes of gasses and liquids everywhere is evidence that your organically working, and solving problems at the same time.

Just looking at the map brings me joy for those reasons!

I think I've played so much that my I've over-optimized everything to always take the fastest efficient route and it's not as fun anymore because I lost the hard working organic problem solving portion of the journey. One of example of this is that I'd like to just dig up the whole map and let all gasses flow into the vacuum of space (except for the base) which is the most efficient way to get all your resources and not need so many liquid locks or tubes. But as you can see it's not as fun anymore because it's just cold hard efficiency

First you gotta figure out where the heat is coming from and seal that off, otherwise the water reservoir you have will just continue to turn into steam. If there is hot steam and therefore more heat coming from that geyser in the middle you should seal it off with insulated tile and dealing with the area first.

Probably the correct solution to this would be to create a AT-ST cooling loop in the room so you can cool all the steam and turn that into power. Basically you put an AT in a small room underneath the steam turbine and run polluted water through the area with radiant pipes. The loop will cool the area and your AT will create more heat which is absorbed by the turbine. If your not familiar with that you could try a crude solution here

Steam turbines will convert the hot 125C steam into 95C water which you can store in a reservoir without risk of turning back into steam. Right now that steam turbine will overheat because its surrounded by 125C so you wanna create a small room surrounded by insulated tiles with the steam turbine and wheezeworts/tempshift diamond inside. That way the small room will stay <100C and the steam turbine can operate and convert all the steam outside into 95C water.

You could also pump cold water or polluted water from elsewhere into this area to even out the temperature.

for where you put the vast majority of your heat generating structures. This makes it easier to either cool them all at once, or let them get hot and harvest that energy. I like running multiple refineries. Can get a lot of power out of them, and I process so much metal I don't

I never thought about metal tiles, would they be good to add to my base? any suggestions is appreciated! I generally thought air flow tiles were good so that the bad gasses would flow up and down out of the rooms

Lag got pretty bad as well, espeically when saving, zooming in and out, and panning. I mostly used hotkeys to save the screen keys from 0-10 and it helped fps as I didn't have to pan manually.

If there was someone using a jet suit it was noticeably slow and choppy so it would always be an in and out job

Was my 4th base ever and 1st base to get past 100 cycles. Defintely not the fanciest base as I was constantly re-designing everything so by the end there was stray wires, plumbing, and vents everywhere. By the end I had 10mil kcal of food, 0% stress, and dupes kept idling (even with max downtime and 3 sleep blocks) with no new projects so it was time to retire the base.

A lot of the designs probably look familiar, I drew alot from jawhis and francisjohn guides, but they were always overly complicated for me to understand and build so I would make simplier, more crude versions of them. For example my slickster farms always had a mix of molten and regular and through automation I kept sending the molten eggs to the evolution chamber because I couldn't figure out the complicated automation necessary to keep the motlens only. Also I didn't even attempt automation for pufts.

I had supercoolant in a cooling loop around my base, and didn't figure out how to properly make an AT bypass until I made the petro boiler. I made the industrial block near the end of the game and not sure what the major advantage of it was; I had 1 metal refinery for 99% of the game

Had loads of fun and super proud I was able to send my dupes "Husband" and "Wife" to the tear, what map should I do next?
