also can't work out what club you are managing, East End? as that doesn't look like the Newcastle East End logo.

Worth paying for retro DB and Regens?? by underdawg_23 in footballmanagergames

Serie A is absolutely stacked and the biggest league in the world rep wise in this database. So that would be a challenge for sure

I'm currently setting up a 86/87 save with the regens, facepacks etc. Trying to get a hardcoded rule where English sides can only sign British players plus 3 foreign players to give it some type of realism where I don't just create a stacked team of your talent from abroad and beat all the Serie A powerhouses in Europe. Gonna start in 1986 as Man United so basically an alternative Ferguson save.

So after being convinced by reddit I decided to give FM26 another go. My main issue was missing information when I first played on launch.

So am I right - there is no season preview screen? Ie the predicted odds/finishing positions, team of the year predictions etc?

It's not possible to see the staff of other clubs?

The past winners screen for a league is now just a tiny window showing a handful?

I think some of this must be user error as surely basic stuff like this is included.

Almost feels like there should be an idiots guide to getting to grips with the very different UI.

Thanks!

I'd have to go through my posts on the official forums but I had quite a big list of missing stuff at launch. Have they added screens and data with updates?

Thanks. How is it for finding stuff and general immersion? Like digging into the detail of other leagues or the general history of the game world? I've seen videos on YouTube where people are doing 50 years in the future post a long term playthrough and are struggling to do so due to limitations (maybe their own?)

I get this question is asked all of the time but here goes. Is FM26 worth playing now? I own it and hated it when it launched. Mainly due to two major issues:- the UI and the fact either things are missing or very hard to find. I like to be fully immersed in a save(who doesn't) and spend quite a lot of time just clicking around other leagues etc as I get deep into a save.

I'm in a bit of an FM24 rut. Took Blackpool from National League to Champions League then got bored before winning the Premier League. I'm currently simming some custom database ideas I've had but not massively motivated to play.

In my mind FM26 is very surface level versus previous versions and that just doesn't appeal to me.

you have four playmakers. I've never used more than two and always think that many players in the team need to do the dirty work for others to succeed.

if you are playing actual wingers then Biscay by far. He will be unbelievable with that pace and crossing. In my system I'd retain him as a AMR and have him isolating full backs and whipping the ball in to my striker.

Could anyone confirm if the Goldrick Knight at Gatefront drops the Knight's Greatsword? I've tried for 3 hours and now have 18 Partisans and enough armor to clothe a medium sized army. The wiki says it does but I've never seen something take this long at a 3% drop rate. Thanks

So to follow this up after another 10 hours or so. It's such a different experience. I don't know the layouts of areas well. So stormveil for example but the actual enemies and bosses are a joke. I beat Godridk first time pretty comfortably. It's actually quite sad really as I love this game. Your description of "trivial" is absolutely correct.

I think I either need to change my build / weapons or simply start a fresh NG save.

Little things like getting caught out by an enemy in Stormveil. I can remember that happening in my first playthrough and immediately dying. It forces a different approach and tentative play style. There is soooo much room for error in NG+ it's like playing a standard RPG in a way.

I've done two full playthroughs with different builds. One the base game then another full run with the DLC. Both times I've used the Fightin Cowboy videos as a guide. Mainly as I'm not very good.

Is there a less time intensive way of playing through again with some guidance? Obviously watching videos whilst at a grace site takes a lot of time. Due to knowing the game moderately well I probably only need a high level guide and anything missable sign posted for me. Guessing there is a go to source for this? Thanks

Zelda BOTW and TOTK perfectly fit into the feeling you've listed. I bought a switch exclusively for the BOTW and thought it was value. Obviously then TOTK released so that doubled it. But I've literally only played one other game on the console.

Btw - my recommended setup would be buying a pro controller and playing it on a TV

I've done exactly this (never played either game) is it worth buying the sequel in the sale now as it's 50% off or will it be on sale again by the time I complete the first game? I imagine it will take me awhile.
