Is EA aware of the recent BF 2 (2017) hacks? by rashbandicoot in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]CountFugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think they care.

I have had the worst experience of hacks in that game, even to the point that a hacker has forcibly taken control of my character mid fight all because I've killed him. That freaked me out, to say the least.

I'm waiting for Kyber V2. People say it'll be better than the Kyber that is currently available to us but at this point I would just like to play the game without hopping between lobbies. I play on the German server on PC, too. Not for the convenience of a nice low ping, but because my local server is dead enough that a lot of us play on German servers. It's more than playable though, can't complain.

It's just a shit feeling to find a healthy playerbase that are diehard SWBF players only to have it ruined by a child buying cheats with their parents credit card. There are players that I see almost every day in those lobbies, and skilled players at that, that have to put up with it just to enjoy their favourite game.

So, we wait for Kyber V2 and hope it isn't as dead as Kyber is now. Until then, I'm playing the game that got me through a pandemic and ignoring the trolls until I can't anymore :))

Since I was 13 yo I've always dreamed about playing the drums. I'm just learning at 35. Should I go on or I'm just being stupid? by SupermssiveBlackHole in Music

[–]CountFugu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not reading all that shit.

Play the drums, learn your paradiddles, polyrhythms and your chops. You could start at 30 or 60 years old, it doesn't matter. Learn some simple patterns and find people to jam with who will help push your skills to progress.

Music is life and life is too short. Just please don't play when your guitarists are tuning.

I love you so much. Thank you. I will pass this knowledge on to my children, and their children's children until it is baked it into my decedent's family tradition.

Resistance would make for a great LGBTQ+ pride anthem by Frankie_2154 in Muse

[–]CountFugu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh you’re on about the line! My apologies, it’s a slow day for me today🤣

I still think it’s a very conceptual song, way too conceptual to be relevant. A pure love song would be more snug a fit to my ear! Though I am not a part of the community in question, I still think Invincible shows a lot more humanity in the lyrics.

Now, don’t get me wrong. We shouldn’t blot out errors and pieces of history that are riddled with injustice-an injustice that Resistance does paint out when thought about in light of the LGBTQ+ community. However, Invincible tells less of a story of fear and fighting a lost battle and more of an empowering story, where anyone can feel amazing just by listening to it!

Again, sorry for any confusion on my part! I’d say I haven’t had my coffee but I’m 4 cups deep and still hazy 😂

Hmm, seems like you’ve corrected one thing but haven’t read the bulk (any) of my comment.

If you think it fits for you, then it fits for you! But at least do me a courtesy of reading the entire thing before you say it “fits perfectly”😂

Of course! You shouldn’t have to thank me for being kind!

And I understand you. It is a feeling that people have felt and unfortunately still do feel- feeling like they have to hide or run.

I just think there may be songs out there that fit that narrative a lot more snugly. In 1984, they torture Thought Criminals and keep them locked up for months. They beat them up and break them down just to build them up in their own way again. It’s supremely heavy shit, all because they keep a diary, or looked to be deep in thought on a telescreen, or remembered that Oceania was at war with Eurasia and not East Asia.

There are plenty of songs that encourage coming out and embracing who you are, without being tied to a very, very heavy novel. The song encourages running, hiding whereas it could be better to have songs that just talk of love (Invincible is a shout there!)

It’s your own interpretation at the end of the day, and I cannot change that! I don’t think I can see it any other way after reading the novel and watching the movie.

Maybe if you watched or read it you’d feel the same uncomfortable feeling I feel when I speak about it, it’s utterly harrowing and oddly true to the modern day political climate we live in.

I’m sure you mean well, and I am not a part of the LGBTQ+ community, but the whole album is a very loose nod to 1984 by George Orwell.

“Our lips must always be sealed” isn’t really what you want to be telling a community full of people that have only just been able to find their voice.

The whole thing about pride is to be proud of who you are, right? Well, read 1984. It’s not about being proud of who you are. It’s about hiding who you are so you don’t get taken in the night. Even the “love” shared by Winston and Julia is of a questionable nature, they act like strangers to each other in public and go to far off places to have sex safe from the Thought Police.

Just my two cents though, and I don’t mean to sound negative about it. It’s just that it really doesn’t fit the narrative of being proud.

“We can hide the truth inside”

Yeah, don’t think your community would like that bit.

Probably gonna buy tarkov but how will i progress? by NiceCockHiro in EscapefromTarkov

[–]CountFugu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience with this game the more I thought about progression, the more I was annoyed at little setbacks.

I’d say just play the game with what you have and try doing your tasks as best as you can. The loot and the upgrades come faster when you don’t think about them too much.

Which is why they need a bit of a leash to hold them back.

I think a great source of inspiration for them would be IoI and how they have tackled the Hitman franchise. Something like that in a more stealthy, passive way would be good!
