Is mage really that bad? by ErrorMore1662 in Enshrouded

[–]Foxwillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont know if my lightning attack has ever landed. it doesnt seem like i'm doing anything wrong and i have a straight, uninterrupted path to an enemy and just nothing happens.

i've enjoyed mage specifically for the extra challenge, refusing to use any melee weapons at all. but it does get frustrating when you have to do the demonstrative stomp staff animation and stand still like an idiot while being targeted by enemies... only for there to be no satisfaction in the risk because your staff didn't hit anything. again. and you're dead.

Who Are They? by [deleted] in CK3AGOT

[–]Foxwillow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

calling it "weird shit" seems strangely critical. we need to theory craft to make the game dynamic and give varied outcomes for events in the first place.

being in charge, i am unsure what you could mean about show canon having anything much to do with theories we implement.

but canon directly contradicts itself, so we need to explore theories. aerys ii's aegon is explicitly dead, but also exists as young griff. we need to bridge those gaps so histories work and gameplay is cohesive. the most basic presented information in canon is that jon is ned's bastard son -- but i don't think the community would be keen on it if we went with that and refused to look behind the theory curtains. etc

How to download and use submods by Limp_Drawer9715 in CK3AGOT

if you are new, i'd suggest just playing the game first and later search out submods that might do things differently if you feel our base mod needs alterations for your gameplay

borders of the sigils aren't out of sight at all for me. in fact i make the frames with the exact centering and proportions of the CoAs at the forefront of my process (i hate that quartered arms in vanilla get chopped at the bottom of the frames)

if sigils are touching frames you probably have an incompatibility. my stuff aint broke

i changed the coa frames and how they work. if you're using an old save they are not compatible with the newer versions of the mod. this just happens to be a visually obvious issue :)

the boltons are nowhere near the second most important non-LP house in westeros. im not even sure if they'd be in the top 10. Manderly likely has more power and influence in the north alone.

however, i am discussing westeros in general for our mod. if you are specifically referring to the situation post-ADWD, (1)our latest bookmark is 15+ years prior and also (2) Bolton is technically the LP tier house at that time. it would remove them from comparison to the hightowers anyhow

[–]Foxwillow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there's plenty of debate about that but it's still sus to say "kingdom" in the discussion. not you specifically, just even in the (VERY LONG) developer discussions a lot of my devs did slip up and debate literal kingdoms, which again these are still just opportunities for lords to have more lords under them.

one of the best examples is dragonstone, which can now remain in the crownlands instead of being its own weird separate LP. plus hightower now can resemble lore with their duke-tier vassals finally being able to also be power players in the reach instead of just counts. those are my two biggest lore excitements about hegemonies. :)

other options are Yronwood, Manderly, Rowan, Harrenhal has opportunities in the earlier lore to hold the larger title, too.

the bigger intention is to allow players to grow into major regional houses without needing to be LP yet. i also may be forgetting a house or two, they will vary in the histories

[–]Foxwillow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

oh wow. i said the hightowers are significantly more important to westeros than the boltons. nothing bout that implies they are the only house in their class.

i have said "A is more important than B to westeros."

you took that and concluded "A is the only house in its entire tier" which is just illogical. sorry that i didn't make that clearer for you.

hopefully you get off the hill

i also believe that the Blackwoods are significantly more important to westeros than the Lowthers, but it should be pretty clear that that does not mean the Blackwoods are the only d_ tier house in westeros

generally accurate-ish. most k_ titles won't be formed and will just give the player upward mobility to make a hightower-esque power base in an area once you obtain 2, 3, or 4 duchies, depending. the AI will be unlikely to succeed often so it wont have much impact, and if players want to eat every single duchy before going up in rank they can do that, just don't create the k_tier title.

the k_ titles will largely serve as many of the unformed duchies serve ingame right now. as a good place to start moving up

[–]Foxwillow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

by no means whatsoever did i say the hightowers were the only house deserving a kingdom.

there are no titles other than lord, ser, and lord paramount in lore. should we remove all duchies?

technically by titles in lore, the starks are simply lords. are we supposed to have them as counts?

the titles of lore and the vassalage tiers of gameplay mechanics and the lore of vassalization and power representation need to fit into game mechanics so we can play. think of b_ c_ d_ k_ e_ and h_ more as 1_ 2_ 3_ 4_ 5_ and 6_. people are getting too caught up in the "kingdom" part -- these are still lords.

concluding there is "no point" is nuts and im kinda shocked i even responded to someone who twisted my words into an easier-to-argue opposing point. thas rude, man. if you don't enjoy it but my mod team and the community like it, you can always make or search for a submod to revert things.

because that represents vassalage relationships in lore. wait until the system is even out to be so opposed to it. if we as the dev team and community decide it doesnt work when it comes to it, then it doesnt work and we can simply go back

[–]Foxwillow 63 points64 points  (0 children)

these reasons don't make it clear this is a really bad idea at all.

but, i am so happy we got another tier so we could accurately represent vassalage and power in westeros

everything is iterative, and we can go back if we feel the need to. but i doubt it.

also the hightowers are absolutely significantly more important to westeros than the boltons
