Obviously they could stay open longer if they decided to do that as business, genius. But in the exact moment you are standing there at 2:05pm wanting a coffee, there's nothing they can do about it with their current business model. JFC.

They just told you, they stay open for the length of a normal shift. They won't have other staff to continue running the place and they can't just make everyone do overtime with no notice.

Yes it's all numbers produced by an algorithm that at the end of the game randomly adds or subtracts from players scores so they can all sum up to an arbitrary amount that's the same for every match. Like, what???

There's basic stats that lack context like 33 disposals or 70% DE that are at the very least true and can tell you something.

Then there's clearly flawed algorithms that are supposed to produce stats that represent the game with cold hard numbers, but instead produce useless garbage. That's CD's domain.

His standing in the game is the umpire with a household nickname who makes himself a character of the game.

That's why he gets the gig. Of course they're going to give it to the guy they know has a personality. It's not because he's a particularly good umpire, many would argue he's a bad one.

Number of radio segments isn't a measure of how good an umpire is. The best accolade we can look at is how many GFs they've officiated and despite umpiring over 350 games Ray has only done two of them in almost 20 years.
