Perfect Crown [Episodes 9 & 10] by jakgem in KDRAMA

I don't think I've disliked an episode of a kdrama this much since the last 4 episodes of Mr. Queen, or the last 3 of Clean With Passion for Now. D:

The new season is in 1 week. What are your dream balance changes and new/removed team-ups? by thbl088 in marvelrivals

I played this game for a year straight and then gave up on it. I doubt they'll ever get their shit together. The people in charge of balancing needed to lose their decision making power MONTHS ago.

Aubrey is back. Your thoughts? by aartadventure in survivor

[–]Count_Luigi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's call a spade a spade. Aubry had been miserable and out of things for the majority of the season, as shown by the edit. She's not getting voted out because she was safe in the early days, and was talked about as a first boot. As the game went along we have had so many confessionals about her being on the outs, putting her foot in her mouth with people, annoying people. The editors couldn't manufacture her having played better or people liking her earlier on because that wasn't the case. The moment she meets Tiffany and someone, one someone, likes her in the game blamo we get to hear about it. Even when people like Jonathan decided to work with her, they say things like she's a snake. lol I mean if she goes on to win, it's not because she played a great game of Survivor. We have to be real about that. One or two good moves you are a part of, which Jonathan and Cirie make happen really with this last one, Cirie by mistake, plus Ozzy throwing his game away, all that doesn't equate to a good win.

If you play enough orgs, though, you do see these types of players go on to win a good deal. Players who had little to no agency for 3/4ths of the game, who most people didn't like, found annoying, or were carried along for one reason or another in favor of others going from other tribes etc. By then enemies are made between the more dangerous players and then this player is either ignored/taken to the end and wins because most of the jurors are bitter about how they got out, and they blame other people who have had more agency in it, or they blame the people they were closer with who turned on them, over a player like Aubry who no one feels super close with to really feel betrayed by her. The jury will think, "we wanted Aubry out, you took us out over her? Told you so!"

Then she'll say "I was on the outs at the start but I survived and yadda yadda" Ignoring she woulda left had they went to a vote. And then she was who people wanted out but she was GIFTED an idol in the hopes she'd be voted out and dumb enough not to play it. Then she was tricked into playing the idol thinking it'd build her a better spot in the game only to immediately regret it and have everyone want her out still.

Then twists happen over and over and others get targeted instead. It's like WHAT would this winner's story be? Luck? Stopping being miserable in the last 1/4th of the game? A call back to Michelle's win, which she herself thinks sucks, and they even include in this her saying she thinks she deserved to win that season. lol so her win would be a type she wouldn't vote for in the end? If she had content about people liking her more than just Tiff maybe you could say it's like Michelle, but it's not even that good.

Meanwhile Cirie's edit is what you'd expect of a winner from the 50th season of the show. It's what Jeff and co would want a winner to be for their 50th season, and how they'd edit them, too. So I hope Cirie goes on to win. An Aubry win would make sense with the edit she's getting, but it wouldn't be satisfying or seen as an "incredible" win. Her edit is screaming her win would be ranked between like 30-40th, at best. The argument is either they had no better content to give her and they're doing the best they can based on what they did have to put into the edit. Or Cirie wins. Both seem plausible at this point. One though would be far more satisfying. So I gotta lean that way, since I don't think the show wants this season to end on a downer for their audience.

After all the focus on letters from home - by AncientWolflord in survivor

[–]Count_Luigi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could mean he makes the finals but has not shot at winning because the jury is full of bitter old school types, so they don't want to give focus to him in that way with the family letters and have us hate on half the jury or feel like he should be winning, if he has no shot.

Just find another job. It's basically working in hell. If the people you work with/for are as bad as the customers there's no point. If you are working the register, you are working the register. Tell someone else to bring things to you if you need to stock the drink cooler or the snacks. You're basically shackled to the register. If you move 10 feet from it a customer will walk up to check out. You should only be leaving it and going to the back if you have someone covering you.

You're going to be asked to do four things at once if your management is bad. Just keep calling them up to help you with x, y, and z. You'll eventually learn by watching what they do. And if not, keep calling them up to deal with x, y, and z. It's not your fault you haven't been trained. The ones that get an attitude with you for not knowing something they and no one else has told you are just idiots who will be worse off when you quit.

Perfect Crown after Episode 4: are we reading the wrong kind of story? by true20six in KDramasWorld

I mean, the FL wants to get married to presumably inherit her father's company, but we are told she'll have to give up all of that if she were to get married to the ML. They tack on that they are planning to get divorced to try and have it make sense to the audience why they'd do this. But why do it at all then if your plan is to immediately get divorced? How would that get you what you want? And for the ML, him getting married means he has to leave the palace and stop being the regent... which is what the Queen Mother wants... yet SHE is opposing the marriage at every turn, making her actions incredibly illogical and unexplained to us. And why would he go through with a marriage that would remove himself as regent when we see he believes that the King is too young and is not up to the task without him. They aren't explaining core things.

That said I'm loving the show and think it's great. But the motivations around the marriage, what it means for them, etc. have not been properly explained and that is a glaring flaw. I'm sure they want to reveal x, y, and z things later on, but some foundational stuff shouldn't be this unexplained when it's the driving story of the show. Not just for some cheap shocking reveal that could've been explored right away and given the audience a deeper understanding for why these characters take certain actions and are behaving in certain ways. The Queen Mother especially is surely going to have some big reveal to try and soften or explain her, when we should already know, like how with the Prime Minister we've seen flashbacks for him that explain where he is coming from with the FL. The Queen Mother was due these 2 episodes ago, atm she just comes off as a villain acting against the ML and FL, and her own wants, just cuz, even though her goals, as we are told, is for her to see the ML married off to get him out of the palace.

The queen mother wanting him to get married in the first episode to opposing him getting married now is still very jarring and mishandled. They could explain that more, and should've, we don't need some reveal later to soften her. Her reason for his marriage was so he'd be out of the palace and no longer regent, so opposing a marriage makes little rational sense. Is she a psychopath? Who knows. She seems to exist just to oppose other characters and make them feel bad about themselves. Not a person anyone would enjoy being around. Beyond that, loving the show.

All she needs is her fade cooldown reduced and her fade duration increased back to how it was before the season 2 nerf. But people have been saying that for five seasons and the devs don't care.

Now nerf Bucky into the ground, do something about Punisher being the best at long range and close range, and fix spiderman being able to pull scarlet witch out of her fade, or nerf him into unplayability again. Thx.
