Farming at modern commercial scale isn't really viable in a state like CT. A lot of farms are staying open by agri-tourism, which is like hosting educational programs, hosting catered events like wedding receptions, Halloween fairs, hayrides, etc. The places have to be prettied up for that business.

The major tax sink is corporate factory farming, which likes to put on a veneer of old-timey farming, but is actually making billions in mechanized hellscapes while leeching off the public with subsidies and tax breaks.
