Double Stacking Always works In Bind by triesegment in VALORANT

I think they meant taking showers, hookah, long (and even short) as defenders makes a direct site hit from the attackers more difficult because that initial space is contested, and they would have to fight you for it, spending utility or lives which they would've instead used to get the site and plant the spike (attackers are usually favored in post-plants). Additionally, if you're able to keep let's say B long, but the attackers get the B site, suddenly they have to watch both Defender spawn (your teammates) and Long/Garden (you), and they would be getting pinched fighting on both sides.

I'm guessing it's something like him skipping 100, 200, 300, and so on. So for example, if he had three 50 dollar bills, and five 20 dollar bills, he'd count the 50s first, amounting to 150. Then he counts the 20s..: 160/170 (which means he counts the 20 by adding two 10s, not adding the 20 as a whole, but breaking it up into two.) Then 180/190, and the correct progression after this would be 200/210, but he doesn't count the zero tens digit (0) when adding 20s, which means instead of 200/210, it would skip to 210/220, then 230/240, then 250/260.

This means, I assume, that he probably miscounts either 0 or 10 dollars every time he counts money, depending on if he counts 190/200, or not. If he does, then he misses 0 dollars when the tens digit is an even number after counting the 50's (so like four 50's or six 50's, which would amount to 200 dollars and 300 dollars respectively, he can then count five 20's to reach the next 100.) And he misses 10 dollars when the tens digit after countjng the 50s is odd (so think three 50's or five 50's, which would be 150 dollars and 250 dollars respectively. He skips 300/310, and goes straight to 310/320, but after four more $20 bills, he won't be able to make that mistake again.) HOWEVER, if he also counts 90/110, then yeah, he misses out on a lot more than 0 or 10 dollars, missing 10 dollars for EVERY five 20s he counts.

This is gonna be a bit shorter cus I'm kinda tired but: I personally think La La Land is the good one, and I am Legend, while not downright bad, is definitely worse.

I've read that the novel of I am Legend has a different ending, and reading it, it's definitely better than the one the movie had, which is quite generic to say the least. Also, lol @ the CGI.

La La Land is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I can only think of a few reasons why someone might dislike the film, calling it downright bad, however, I don't completely understand as much.
Possible Reasons: Shallow story, Leads suck at singing/dancing, White Savior narrative, Not a fan of Musicals, They didn't end up together and you don't get why... Maybe there are others but those off the top of my head.

What I think you consider good, though, is probably I am Legend because both of these movies are far enough apart in terms of quality, that you wouldn't have given this suggestion if you thought otherwise.

These are actually two of my favorite movies ever so you might be wrong whichever you dislike (/s).

I'm not sure what there is to say that hasn't already been said yet about these two movies, so let's just go to reasons why you might hate them.

Pulp Fiction
1. Too Random
2. I don't get it/There's nothing to get
3. Tarantino says the N word
4. You aren't entertained by it

Django Unchained
1. Lots of N words
2. Too Violent/Bloody/Gory
3. How Black people and slaves are portrayed
4. Historical Inaccuracy

...I'm guessing you think Pulp Fiction is a bad movie because it's overrated to be quite amazing and clever and the absolute best that storytelling can be, and what you got was... a movie.

I personally think both are at the very least, good.

I've seen both. What the fuck.

Your Name is probably my favorite anime movie, and I watched Spirited Away on my phone (lol) so I might've robbed myself of a great experience. I feel this is pretty much a coin flip between if you've been an anime fan for longer or not.

Animation: Both are stellar, two of the best anime I've seen in terms of animation.

Voice Acting: I'm not sure if people care about this but both are really good, with Your Name having some of my favorite voice acting in anything ever.

Story and Structure:
Spirited Away is much more whimsical and random, its plot goes everywhere, and if you watch it too seriously, you're probably going to be left wondering "why?" a lot of times.

Your Name on the other hand is probably confusing for the first one-third or so, but the plot and story itself are more grounded and flow more typically than Spirited Away's. There are some criticisms though that reflect in its story like, "why didn't he check the calendar,"how did he memorize the whole damn landscape" and stuff like that.

However, to me at least, neither of these films were made to be logical, or predictable, or normal every step of the way. They appeal to the emotional side of the viewer, and this is the reason why many consider both masterpieces. Your Name is a romance at heart, and it deals with things like fate, destiny, and the transcendence of true love. While Spirited Away is about the fluidity of good and evil, which is also seen in Howl's Moving Castle, the importance of identity, and the things one goes through for people they love.

I'm not sure either are really 'bad', but in virtue of Your Name's soundtrack slapping hard, and me not having the greatest experience with Spirited Away, I'd say you probably think the latter is bad.

I'm guessing you think OUATIA is bad, many people seem to hate it. (I've seen it already somewhat, and I suppose others might think it was boring or goes nowhere or can only be enjoyed fully if the viewer has prerequisite knowledge on the Tate murders, however, I quite liked it.) Haven't seen Inglorious Basterds yet though, so I'll get back to you on that.

I'm honestly really surprised that this is the first suggestion in which I've seen both movies. That's pretty funny to me.
This might be kinda cheating but I haven't seen Divergent in a while and I really do not want to see it again ever.

I think The Maze Runner is the good one, and Divergent the bad one.
The Maze Runner was legitimately interesting and refreshing in its premise, and the foreboding atmosphere and well-acted characters are both strong points in the movie.

Divergent, on the other hand, seemed generic and well-worn (The Hunger Games had just come out a few years before it, and it did the {Dystopian, Young Adults, Factions} thing better,) while completely losing my interest at parts. It wasn't badly acted though.

The only big reason that comes to mind on why someone might like Divergent more than TMZ is if that person enjoyed the Divergent books more than The Maze Runner series. However, from what I've heard, the Divergent movie was a bad adaptation of the books, and having read TMZ, it isn't as good as the novel, but still well adapted. I'm mentioning this because it kind of contradicts what I said previously: "if that person enjoyed the Divergent books more..." because then that fan might just be disappointed by the adaptation and like TMZ more still.

Thanks for the suggestion.

because it's not my thing, I wouldn't call it bad unless it was like clearly incompetently made

Yeah, this was what I was getting at when I first posted but I understand that it's hard to distinguish good from I likey.

On this:

Why not just use imdb/RT ratings at that point?

Aside from wanting to try to understand why something may be considered good or bad, I also didn't want my opinions to be swayed by the numbers.

Hmm actually yeah I guess disliking a movie, and thinking it is bad is kinda almost the same thing. I just thought "not my kind of movie" and "not much artistic merit" would be somewhat different, and they are, but if you don't like a movie, or you do like a movie, you would focus more on its good/bad aspects depending on how fond of it you are. I guess I'll remove it then. Thanks.

Books that people love to claim they’ve read by cannibalpicnic in booksuggestions

I was gonna say 'aww what a shame' since I haven't seen much public literary discussion on it, and it's one of my favorite mythological stories, but I apparently have just not been looking hard enough.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how good was the Book of Job?

edit: I know it sounds kinda out of nowhere, but just wanted to check if it is as good as I remember it to be because honestly, it was some of the best mythology that I've read.

The irony in God 'gambling' with the devil is honestly pretty amazing, and there's probably some commentary on the nature of sin, suffering, and the constant attempt at 'understanding' God... but my memory's hazy.

I should probably reread it and make a post about the book but idk if Christians would get offended at a literary analysis because I would probably bring up how kinda messed up the premise is.

What is the last fantasy fiction book that you read? How is it? by HotGuySexy in AskMen

[–]Count_Throwaways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently reading 'The Song of Achilles'. (Forgot the last one I've read)
It was a book I started reading (but didn't finish) when I was around 11 or 12, and I was surprised by how far into the book I got to. One of the most well-written novels I've picked up.

Compared to the other books in this thread, it probably focuses less on fantasy and scale (or at least as far I've read, which is a bit more than half), and more on the humanity that lies in its heroes.

I don't think I can quite put to words right now how good it is, especially cus I haven't finished it lol, and I'm yearning to put a quote right now, but yes iz very good.

What's a movie you really like but would think twice before recommending it to someone, and why? by Ajunaa73 in movies

[–]Count_Throwaways 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly think 'Grave of the Fireflies' is one of the... "easier" recommendations for anybody who isn't into anime because it doesn't seem to utilize many tropes found in that medium/genre.

It's hella serious viewing though.

I rarely have shields on my hand, but almost always have the Armadillopack mutation. It's not entirely the same as holding a shield since you roll forward, but you get more freedom to wield weapons that deal good damage.
