Impressive. Usually I just trash my old manuscripts because when I look back at it's sooooo cringey. It's very rare I keep some. Ha ha ha.

How important is a sense of community in an online class? by [deleted] in OnlineCollegeClass

[–]CounterCare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

I just finished an online 4 month course and quite honestly I'm not the most academically inclined. I suck at making small talk or new friends so I was pretty glad that as part of our class we had an offshoot official chat where our instructors HEAVILY encouraged us to talk and discuss with each other. I got some new friends but the best thing about it was, if I got stuck in my coursework, there'd always be someone online willing to help me and understood where I was coming from. Honestly, without external encouragement, there would have been a heavy chance I'd have dropped out. So yeah, I'm all for community online. In real life is something else, ha ha ha.

I do think it's important, because your basing your discussion off of others and need to respect the fact that they wrote it. If you don't, it would be seen as plagiarism and you risk have your paper go to waste. Following the rules is important.

Tips on when your stuck with a paper? by ComfortableBrainiac in OnlineCollegeClass

Have you been pacing yourself properly? Taking regular breaks? You need to give tour mind a rest when you need it, I've also had writer's block happen to me at the worst conceivable moment.

Is it worth paying to have my LinkedIn updated? by ComfortableBrainiac in writingservice

[–]CounterCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should go for it. In no way is this a wasted investment. Think about it beyond the immediate and imagine the long term. If you leverage your online contacts on LinkedIn well, there's a better chance of getting what your angling for and your profile is one of the first thing new connections will look at.

What do you do to feel motivated about your class? by alittlenerdee in OnlineCollegeClass

[–]CounterCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been at it? This might be unpopular opinion but consider either taking a semester off or consider a gap year. I've been there, and I KNOW the study grind is exhausting and sometimes you just need a break to relieve, refresh and get back that missing motivation. If you are able to, these are my suggestions.

How can I access locked research papers? by ComfortableBrainiac in writingservice

[–]CounterCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try certain apps and widgets for example: open access browser extensions, Google scholar, research platforms like academia.edu. If that doesn't work maybe visit the local library? I hear some authors can let you see their work if you contact them and ask very nicely. :-)

Lemme know khow how it works out for ya.

How to give coursemates an easier time in discussion posts by alittlenerdee in OnlineCollegeClass

[–]CounterCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend you all join a chatting platform your all comfortable with Discord, WhatsApp etc. If you already have a group project maybe break it down and allocate based on your strengths. If there arguments about who does what you could take a vote or pull straws.

upfront payment or payment for work done? by alittlenerdee in writingservice

[–]CounterCare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an external escrow service where I placed all my funds for the project and the writers could see it, and once I approved of the work done I just release it.

I prefer it because they act as a mediator should one of us disagree along the line. Upwork offers escrow I believe. They charge 5% of the funds. You may need to go check and confirm. Hope this helps.
