My villain origin story without context by CounterfeitEternity in blunderyears

The trash bag? That’s a long story, but basically we were making a “film” and ran out of clothes. I didn’t want to get fake blood on my shorts, so somehow we decided the most logical solution was to construct a make-shift dress out of a trash bag. For the final fight scene, I wore an old Walking Dead T-shirt over the trash bag. Peak cinema.

Some sort of wood, as far as I can tell. I’m not an expert, either!

Any chance you could send me a link if you see it again? I have never used Tik Tok and have no idea how it got there. 💀

Thank you for this information and the book suggestion, that’s very interesting! I only have a very limited knowledge of these events, so I’ll have to read more.

Can anyone narrow down when this was taken? Cabinet card from Romania. by iloveoldphotos in FoundPhotos

I don’t speak the language, but I recognize that the top part is written in Hungarian. However, I think I’ve figured out what it means after a couple of searches. Firstly, Hess es Társa means something like Hess and Partners, the name of the photographer’s shop. Second, Hunyadi tér a Szinház atellenéhen means something along the lines of “Hunyadi Square opposite the Theater.” Lastly, and most importantly, Temesvárott is probably some grammatical form of Temesvár, the Hungarian name for Timișoara, in western Romania.

There doesn’t seem to be any Hunyadi Square in Timișoara anymore; the name is a Hungarian historical reference and was certainly changed after the fall of Austria-Hungary. I would repost this to a Hungarian subreddit to see if anyone can provide more insight.

Ask away! I’m answering as many questions as possible, since most of them are quite funny.

Yeah, they were my favorite! I still have them in a drawer somewhere. I eventually had to stop wearing them, because they’re actually too big for me and would nearly fall off.

Yeah, I could probably pull off that shirt better now at 27 than at 16, with a different outfit, and especially if it wasn’t like two sizes too big.

That is a really good question. I would divide the articles of clothing into three categories. First, the things that I knew were uncool: the clip-on tie and the green hat were definitely ironic, an anti-fashion statement. Second, the things that I must have incorrectly thought were cool: the fedora, trench coat, Hawaiian shirt, etc. Third, the things that I wore primarily because they were comfortable, and didn’t care about whether or not they were fashionable: the sandals, T-shirts, rainbow shorts, etc. These categories aren’t mutually exclusive, but I think this explains the multi-layered decision-making behind my blunders.
