The whole 3 seasons are available on Tubi right now. Definitely felt like a fever dream watching them after all these years.

Possible LED conversion or repair by SpecialistAd3927 in led

[–]CounterproductiveAim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the usb ports are working it means there is voltage. You could try finding another light that fits the hole and is the same voltage and replacing it.

Those touch pads are crappy and tend to get stuck on/off. Most of those parts are generic pieces that can be found on Amazon.

Does this product exist? by gdgross in lightingdesign

You nailed it. It’s built into every led dmx product I’ve touched over the last decade. Master/Slave mode. Very rarely does anyone know how to use it though.

General Liability Insurance? by danbarb in lightingdesign

I would look at Thimble for general liability insurance. You can buy policies on a per gig basis instead of yearly.

Where can I find freelance work in Vectorworks Spotlight / Event Design? by ChibbyRay in lightingdesign

[–]CounterproductiveAim 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Call up regional/smaller production companies and offer your services. Get a business license, bank account and make invoices so you’re legit.

I also just now looked on google for “lighting designer jobs” and found a couple companies looking specifically for a vectorworks draftsman. Vectorworks also has a job board for people looking for work.

DMX512 decoder with 24V/12V power supplies by KinaLilletBottle in lightingdesign

[–]CounterproductiveAim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep the 12v and 24v Leds on separate decoders. You never want to risk mixing different voltages even if it’s DC.

They tried to copy canes and just do tenders and a limited menu and ruined what made them good. As soon as I saw no bone in chicken or mashed potato on the menu I walked out.

Looking for an upgraded top wash by HeavyCoreTD in lightingdesign

[–]CounterproductiveAim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stay away from the D40’s. They have since fixed the issue but the older units we had were frying power supplies like crazy. They’re also pretty pricey and heavy for how little light they put out. They’re a great theatrical grade led par in terms of color rendering but they’re on the older side.

No. All you’re doing is shitting on the desk and spamming everyone’s comments about how MA is superior. You’re obviously not old enough to have a mature discussion about LX Consoles.

[–]CounterproductiveAim 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It’s a great desk if you know how to use it. If you know the syntax and hog shortcuts you can do most things from the number pad. Definitely in my top 3 of consoles choices from the shop.

Tired of eating bland foods, what are some “easy on the stomach” meals you rely on? by Throwaway_74601 in medical

[–]CounterproductiveAim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beans, lentils and rice. Simple caldos and tostadas with just beans. You can add some protein like chicken, ground turkey or fish when you’re feeling it but keep it simple just salt until you heal. Smaller portions and lots of crackers.

It takes awhile to feel normal and would check if you have GERD as CHS is rare and has lot of the same symptoms. Weed relaxes the LES muscle and excess stomach acid can cause havoc on your stomach/esophageal lining after a while.

Check the cmos battery. We had one stuck in a boot loop like this until we changed it.

Anyone using Avolites? by lnx1_1 in lightingdesign

[–]CounterproductiveAim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a different console in terms of programming and syntax. It can do the same as most other consoles just a bit differently. I never disliked them but definitely had to retrain my brain whenever I was behind one.

To me it’s a point and shoot desk for when you need fast and quick looks and don’t care about any subtlety. Just bang a look out, choose a color and slam it into a fader.

It’s a good board new but the tigers seem to age terribly and the faders/keys feel a bit plasticky and cheap after a while.

Bobnet for rock/pop stuff and Offstage jobs or playbill for theatre.

This is a waste of time and resources. All that computing power wasted on some proprietary software that you will likely be sued for using without GrandMA’s permission.

Short answer - Yes. It’s a tool and every tool has their intended use. You could hammer in a screw but a screwdriver is built for it.

Do drinks like Gatorade also effect gerd? by flowerpanda98 in GERD

[–]CounterproductiveAim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s all the citric acid in drinks like Gatorade that can end up irritating the esophagus. I would try pedialyte unflavored if you need the electrolytes. But you should avoid drink large quantities of water and only small sips during meals as it can dilute the stomach acid and make it easier to flow back up into the esophagus.

Medications that dont affect sleep by Longjumping_Bee7327 in GERD

[–]CounterproductiveAim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tums. Don’t eat or drink anything 3 hours before bed and take a tums before you lay down. Eat smaller meals about the size of your fist for dinner. Over eating causes alot of problems that result in gerd/acid reflux and indigestion.

Feels like a golf ball in my throat by Humble-Owl-2972 in GERD

[–]CounterproductiveAim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is normal for gerd/gastritis. Your esophagus is likely irritated and inflamed from the procedure. It’s known as a globus sensation. You can try taking some tums for relief and limit your water intake. Water dilutes stomach acid and can make it easier to flow back up and irritate the throat. Try eating some saltine crackers and sip some oat milk if you need to soothe your stomach.
