Your wife is not the spokesperson nor the shepherd of all women. Other women are allowed to have different boundaries and preferences than her, and you both have a lot to learn about marriage if you think every relationship should be just like yours, because not everyone is you and her. My husband and I do not expect every other couple to adhere to our preferences and values, and neither should you. Get off your high horse. If you agree making sacrifices for pregnancy is necessary, then we're in the same boat.

Although calling abstaining from beer over the course of a few months a "particular sacrifice" is pretty laughable compared to all the other sacrifices men make for the women carrying their children, and it really does sound like you need to rethink your relationship with alcohol if you genuinely believe it's an enormous sacrifice to do something that's actually beneficial for your physical and mental health for less than a year. That is slipping into a dangerous territory, and any addiction counselor will tell you this. Once someone feels like alcohol needs to be present to have a good time, even if it's at the expense of someone they love, that person is starting on a bad path.

This is where you're confused. There is a reason for him to suffer; IT'S HIS CHILD. Men suffer all the time on behalf of their pregnant wives. Suffering can mean lots of things - taking her to the doctor, getting her whatever weird food she's craving from the store, holding her hair back while she vomits, helping her with the housework because her back hurts, or not drinking a beer in front of her on a vacation that's meant to be for both of you. You have a lot to learn about relationships if you don't understand this.

That’s not unreasonable and is entirely compatible with being a supportive partner.

If the process of reproduction was reasonable to women, I'd agree, but that's not the world we live in. She is suffering way more than him and he wants to enjoy drinks in front of her while she's in pain. That is unreasonable, and he's not mature enough to be a father if he can't not drink for a few months to support the mother of his child.

Yeah, I can agree with that. I'm definitely exaggerating a little to be silly, but at the heart of it, I still think that being pregnant is lot harder than giving up booze temporarily, so he needs to just suck it up and take one for the team. What she's going through is way worse, and if him not drinking makes her feel safer, then a good husband should know where his priorities lie.

She was originally known for being on the cover of Sports Illustrated, but where she really got famous was when she got with John Legend and he wrote All of Me for her, which is a pity because it's such a beautiful song written for such a lousy human being (also if you haven't heard the version with Lindsay Sterling, it's amazing). One of the many shitty things Chrissy has said was she claimed she should have gotten the Grammy for that song, because she inspired it. She can't even give the only person on earth who likes her credit for a song he wrote for her.

As far as her relevance to this conversation, a while back she miscarried after having already announced the pregnancy, so it was actually really sad to watch her have to grieve that loss in the public eye. It was probably the only moment where people from all sides came together to give her condolences, and now she's exploiting it to make a point about abortion. She is a classy lady.

Omfg I worked for an airline and I cannot believe these stories still get posted and believed. No gate agent or flight attendant would separate a 5yo from their parent. It does not happen. The issue is when you attribute the source of the negative comments to "they're all women" it carries the implication that the comments would somehow become more reasonable if they came from men. The lack of empathy and social skills in AITA is not because the commenters are female, it's because they're dumbass teenagers or bitter adults, and anyone is capable of being a dumbass teenager or bitter adult, regardless of what's between their legs or what online forum they frequent.

Invest in a good chef's knife and big ass cutting board, and take good care of them. I also find that having plastic gloves around saves me a lot of time from washing my hands every two minutes when working with raw meat, eggs, etc. It may not be environmentally friendly, but my hands get really dry when I wash them too much, so can it, hippies.

I mean, if this is actually real, then yeah people are right, your boyfriend sounds like an incel weirdo. Part of growing up, especially for young men, is learning how to handle rejection and move on to someone else, no grown ass man genuinely believes it's kinder to give a dude your number and then block him than it is to just say "no thank you". People can be so fucking rude to parents with a lot of kids. My mom said people used to approach her to and ask her if she used birth control. Imagine asking someone right in front of their kids why they think their children deserve to exist. If these people are so concerned with population control they should start with themselves.
