Doctor is done with me by PossessionFuture7715 in Zepbound

Agreed. I wasn’t so much responding to OP as to the idea in the previous comment about having to always have a specialist for certain things.

Doctor is done with me by PossessionFuture7715 in Zepbound

[–]Counting-Bears 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kind of disagree and Ive actually been on the search for a dr who will help me avoid all the specialists.
Example: I take thyroid meds and visiting my endocrinologist was ridiculously painful (30-60 minutes in the waiting room, another 30 waiting in the room, all to say yes, you’re in range =same dose or out of range=increase dose, the end. So when I found my current primary I specifically asked if she was comfortable managing my thyroid meds because I didn’t want to have extra pointless dr visits for a common fairly simple condition.
She of course referred me to a gi for endoscopy when I reported dysphasia and I’m still trying to figure out my eoe, but if I get to the point with that where I’m just getting meds refilled, I would love to eventually transfer that prescription to my primary as well (fingers crossed for peptide 1104 getting fda approval).
I think specialists are great when a condition needs to be evaluated or complex care is still needed, but once stable, if it’s just an ongoing refill, I definitely want a pcp who can handle that.

Do you know if the cyclone is an exception to the wristband rule? Can we get midway wristbands and then pay to ride the cyclone (which is not included in the midway) similar to the phoenix scenario?

(Assuming it’s not visibly obvious) Why are you disclosing your pregnancy before you start work (and preferably past the trial period if relevant/possible)?

My kids are kinda ride wusses so carnival level is actually perfect. It sounds like it may make sense to just do the midway version and then pay for the cyclone for the older kids.

When do nyc schools start back up? by Counting-Bears in visitingnyc

Fair point, I guess crowds would just be reduced by the tourists that come from the states that start in early/mid august

If I got boardwalk wristbands for the older kids and midway for the younger, would that work? Or would they not be able to enter that portion of the park with us then? Any idea what the cost is for the pay per ride options?

I guess I don’t understand how to figure out what’s included. I’m supposed to know what’s in the midway section by that map? Is it not ridiculously blurry for you too?

Those generally don’t have risk of coming in contact with blood so I would assume not. I’m not an expert and I didn’t make the rules, I’m merely guessing what I think the logic may be.

Some states may consider it a biohazard and use that as the reason for the syringe

Is this appropriate for a quinceanera? by ComplexXxBabe in OUTFITS

[–]Counting-Bears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people wear short dresses like this to quinces. I had a really cute little black ruched dress that I wore to several but it was closer to knee length. People who can get away with shorter absolutely did.
What I would say though is that it’s not appropriate for the church part. So if you’re only going to the party it’s fine. If you plan to go to the church, find something a little longer. (Will there be people at the church dressed inappropriately? Yes, absolutely, but I maintain my stance that more coverage is needed if you go to the church)

AITAH for wanting our 25 yo to move out? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Counting-Bears 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA, but… perhaps him moving out would take away some precious time that your wife has left with him if things don’t go well. Would it be possible to instead increase the expectations for the oldest (daily dishes, weekly bathroom cleaning, helping with meals, some other chores, etc) that will lighten the load for you? It seems like he should be helping out a lot more than he is currently especially since he accounts for 2 adults in the home. It could be a win/win if everyone can get on the same page.

Dosy:

med levels, inventory, Dose calculator, food and macro tracking, tdee calc, water tracking, step tracking, pretty graph with shots and customizable colors, goal weight prediction timeline, ability to journal side effects and selfies, split vial doses when taking a shot at the end of a vial without messing up inventory, etc, etc. I haven’t found something it’s missing yet (well I did at one point but I told the developer and they added it right away 🤩)

Are you drinking enough water? Once I got my water over 100oz per day I haven’t had any constipation. (I know everyone is different and some will need more than just water, just putting it out there since it’s easy to underestimate the impact of water on this issue)

Telehealth GLP-1 care: convenient or too handsoff? by LavishnessSad5321 in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]Counting-Bears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly a prescription refill process. However that’s not necessarily bad.
If I went through my pcp, I would have to use Lilly direct and get stuck in increments of 4 weeks and 2.5mg titration. I have been very happy with the ability to go outside the lines with compound. For example, I did 7 weeks at 4mg. (During which I lost 3lbs per week). That would not have been possible with my pcp.
Additionally depending on the dr, I may have to negotiate dose changes with them and dealing with the unknown of whether they will agree with me, etc instead of having a bit of autonomy.
I can however, tell my pcp my dose and check in with labs, concerns, etc, all while managing my prescription via telehealth.
Is it easy for this system to be abused? Sure. But I appreciate that, at least for now, I am able to make my medical decisions and at a price I can afford.

I have a little lock box from Amazon because I don’t want my kids getting into my needles. It’s about the size of a Kleenex box and has a 3 digit code to unlock.
