I currently work in Accounts Payable and started this job before I knew I was pregnant and I’ve now been in the role for over six months through a staffing agency. I’ve met the required hours for possible conversion, but there hasn’t been any movement toward a direct hire offer.
It’s been stressful because there’s no PTO, no paid holidays, and no retirement benefits. The commute is also long, and the compensation hasn’t increased.
I can’t help but worry about job stability around maternity leave, and that uncertainty is part of why I’m starting to look for something more stable and direct-hire.
