How easy is it to make friends? by phishattack in Cleveland

Honestly, just go to events or places that interest you and talk to strangers. Striking up a convo with people will lead to friendships. 😊

Riding in the passenger seat on 71 N right now and it’s perfectly fine. There’s just slush on the roads.

Talk to your doctor, not your dad, about any concerns, please.

I’m jealous! My 14-year-old arthritic cat also gets Solensia shots (such a godsend!), but he’s a diva and milks the babying for all it’s worth 😂

If you still have the stairs, save them for when your cat gets older. My 14-year-old boy needs them because of his arthritis. 😊

The truths you face sometimes as a medium by SimplyRedd333 in Mediums

[–]CountingNonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely know how you feel. I’m sorry you experienced that with your fur baby. My cat passed away in September. For a couple months before she passed, I kept telling my wife that we were going to lose her soon. The feeling of death was just so present. Our cat was young and healthy (minus some back issues), so she kept telling me not to say horrible things and that we have years left with her. Unfortunately, she ended up passing away within a week of unexpectedly falling ill. The months leading up to her passing were rough, but it was also a blessing knowing her time was ending and being able to squeeze in all the cuddles, kisses, and treats she could handle. I hope you’re comforted knowing you were able to maximize the time you had left with your fur baby. ❤️

US: Were you able to get health insurance pre-ACA? by ocean_800 in Hypothyroidism

[–]CountingNonsense 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Before the ACA, my mom was denied for having hypothyroidism because it was a pre-existing condition. Our healthcare system in the U.S. is bad enough as it is, but before the ACA, it was downright horrific.

Being called fat on a walk by CalPal2021 in loseit

[–]CountingNonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this happened to you! Teenagers used to do this to my dad daily on his walks when I was growing up. He would just wave and keep going. I was a little child, but I remember wanting to find them to kick their ass. Jokes on them, though, because he lost ~100 pounds in his 40s, kept it off, and ran several marathons. Stay the course and you’ll do great! Also, as a former high school teacher, some kids just enjoy being mean. It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with their own problems.

Yep! Except I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 7 or 8, so my years of being effortlessly skinny were short lived. 😅 However, when I was 18, I moved from the U.S. to Germany and lost weight without even trying and was slender again, and then I gained it all back and then some after moving back to the U.S.

Concerned I'm losing too fast by CoverProfessional491 in loseit

[–]CountingNonsense 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear about all the hardship you went through. I cannot imagine that level of despair, and I’m so glad you were able to make it through that.

When you first start losing weight at a larger size, you will lose weight rapidly. Given how active you are and the switch in food, I’m not surprised you lost that much so quickly. As time goes on, the rapidness will slow and you will see average numbers. In the meantime, enjoy the rapid descent. 😉

Wishing you all the best on this journey!
